What's so special about Prada?

I love Prada for a fact that the designs of the bags are always quite different, a class of its own really! Their shoes are great make and she really follows her passion and creativity vibes. I love to be surprised hence *Prada*!

I have one Prada bag and 8 Balenciaga bags. My boss asked me if it is made better than other bags and worth the price. She doesn't know the cost, but knows it is a Prada. I do think the workmanship is excellent. It was more than my Bal bags, but I do love how it is made. I feel it is sturdy. Because it has a silver-plated handle, the leather won't warm there. That is always a pet peeve of mine on other bags with leather handles.

I apologize if this has been asked and answered a hundred times before. I didn't find a Reference section or a FAQ section to this subforum, but if anyone would like to offer links, I'd appreciate it.



I've bought a few Prada items in the past. Belts, T's, and cosmetic pouches. OK, I know the price range of Pradas.

But I'm wondering about the larger bags/luggages/etc. of Prada. I mean, it's only nylon, canvas on the neo so the price is really extravagant. Even Gucci these days are discounted because Canvas is just not leather.

I'm not sure what to think. What's the specialty of Prada bags? Aside from the sexy black and the little triangular plate, I would like to know where the value of a Prada bag lies.

I'm just curious and would like to be better educated in the material and line of Prada bags.

Prada are known for their bags and accessories in nylon and in leather- particularly saffiano leather which is easily identifiable and durable/practical. They are famous for their simple unfussy designs and clean lines, however are also releasing more edgy styles. They are renowned for quality and their impeccable craftsmanship, although nylon of course is not as hard wearing as leather.

I'm a Baby Boomer....I love the style bags women wore in the 50s/60s. So! Prada's frame bags caught my eye and I'm too hooked....first one I purchased very recently is the thumbnail photo....see left. I then purchased the larger frame bag in black and one in cammeo. I also purchased the smaller blue for my DIL. I had no intentions purchasing more after my first but when it arrived I was too impressed....the beginning of a new addiction.... with the quality/workmanship/etc. These bags will outlive me but I intend to go out wearing one of them.
