what would be a good color for a first birkin?

hi Xquisite,
the other option that Paris store proposed to me was a brushed palladium, which i have taken for my order of a 2-toned birkin40:yes:

Ooh, Chocolat Chaud - that would be nice. May I ask what colours are in your kelly?
BTW, It's 9:30 in the morning here & your name has made me feel like I must now drink un chocolat chaud.

that's one lovely birkin! it will serve you well this spring while you think about a bag for year round when you tuck the rose away this fall (as someone else pointed out earlier).

if you would regret trading it in, DON'T do it! it sounds like you love it and, as someone else mentioned, if another birkin is doable, hold on to this special one and wait for a more neutral year round color to come by! good luck :)

thank you for the advice. everyone has been such a help. now i know what my next shade should be.
i am already planning my next one. i can't bring myself to give rose dragee up. i keep taking it out of the box and i love it more and more every time i see it. i'll just have to wear my other bags till i am lucky enough to get a darker shade.
maybe when i'm in paris this september.

Hurray! You're keeping your RD Birkin and figuring out how to snag your second Birkin. Oh, and reinforcing the wisdom of that island Hermes purchase in your DH's mind. When you use your RD Birkin, you'll have the extra pleasure of sweet vacation memories and a reminder of your DH's generosity. Welcome to the Hermes Addicts club, Rogicoco!

i am so addicted to hermes that i am plotting to sell all my other bags. i love my kelly bags, blue jean dogon wallet and my new found love RD birkin.
i can't stop thinking of my next bag.
to demonstrate the lunacy i noted all the locations in europe on hermes site. this way when we are on a cruise in europe this september i will be able to visit as many stores as possible.
i think i am nuts. is there a cure?

i've always been practical with my bags and that's why almost all them are black. the most colorful one i have is dark brown. so you can imagine how this color threw me for a loop. i guess just like with my clothes i have to come out of the shell and wear my rose bag. due to work i've been wearing black for 8 years all year round. i have to force myself to wear color on weekends .
there was a time before this job when i used to wear light colors all the time and now i am brain washed into dark colors.
i hope it goes away one day. i'll just have to buy colorful birkins from now on. right?

hi Xquisite,
are you saying bout the Birkin that i have placed with brushed palladium? mine is going to be Graphite 88 as outer with Gris 81 as interior, a very greyish combo!
frankly, chocolat chaud is my favourite drink while i'm in Paris!:wlae:

i went through the same "agony"...i do have a blue jean kelly bag so I ruled out that color which would have been my 1st choice. I chose gold with gold hardware however did do an orange lining for some "hermes fun". i adore the orange, but not forever so just did the lining. now i must say i have been patiently awaiting it's arrival as this seems to add months to the wait, but all good things take time.

my husband did surprise me with a wallet pick over the weekend and itm as between blue jean and gold - i got the gold as the blue jean looked very "matchy" with the kelly.

i hope this helps and congrats!!!!
