My husband and I are attending a charity event next month, and the dress code is "Black Tie and Blue Jeans". Has anyone ever been to one of these and/or have suggestions for what to wear? I would prefer not to wear jeans (since I feel like you can wear jeans and dressy top any time), but I don't want to be way over dressed either...

Thanks for the help!

I would wear nice denim and dress it way up. How about some patterned (like lace) or coated denim? You could add lots of jewelry, heels, etc. With these sorts of events, you can usually get away with a little fun/whimsy (like a feather boa, etc.) if you wanted to.

Why not wear a gorgeous dress and pair it with a really fitted dark rinse jean jacket?
That way you can do the dress, jewelry, Louboutins, hair... and keep within the dress code for the event?

I would go to the event in a dark denim shirt and leather skirt ensemble.

Your husband can wear denim on denim if he is adventure. A darker denim jacket over a lighter denim shirt wit a skinny leather tie and black slim fit jeans.
