What styles have been discontinued? What is the next one?

So we're going into our 7th year of the Classic Balenciaga Moto bag (city or first with reg. hardware). Although the colors change 2x a year - and they've added other hardware options to keep it fresh, do you think the traditional moto bag will ever (like in the next 5 - 10 years) be discontinued?

It's so hard for me to gage the outsiders prospective on these bags. Of course we balenciaga pf'ers love them - and I for one don't care if they're "in or out" of style, they suit me so I spend my hard earned money on them.

But what about Balenciaga as a business - will there be a point when we'll have to say good bye to new versions of our lovelies?

I reckon not...Moto bags are like a good drop of Coco Chanel or #5. They will be around for a long time yet!

^ I agree and the Chanel 2.55 has been around since well, 1955 so I don't think that they will do so since motorcycle bags are now iconic of Balenciaga.

Oh Heavens No! They are all about the bottom line, what doesn't sell is discontinued. The moto SELLS, point blank. THis style makes them some $$$$!

I agree, as long as they're making $$$$$ they'll keep making them. Especially since they have been termed "iconic".

while i definitely hope it wont be discontinued i think it's too early to call it a classic like the chanel quilted bags imo! like the OP said, it's the 7th year...that's not very long in "classics time". they certainly have become iconic, especially through "young hollywood" (nicole richie, lindsay lohan, olsens, etc...) although I think that might actually frighten some buyers off, who don't want to be associated with that!!

I love them, and have loved them ever since I caught my first glimpse of the motorcycle bag!!

I guess the only thing to do, is to keep buying 'em so Balenciaga won't ever discontinue the motorcycle style!!
