I must add that I still feel extremely guilty for buying those three bags because I don't really need them. I had a perfectly good Coach Kristin hobo I bought a year ago after my D&B finally fell apart. It's really affecting my enjoyment of them, especially since I've wanted a Chanel & LV bag for years. Never had more than one purse at a time until now. That comes from my mother, who has always drilled in me that one is enough and should cost no more than $50.

My love of bags is NOT hereditary. LOL

Oh no, you shouldn't feel guilty! I think that that it's really nice, that you have gotten yourself something, you have wanted for years! I really hope, that you will be able to enjoy your wonderful, new bags fully!!
(My psychologist says that it's okay to have six bags, and he's a professional after all:graucho:!)

It all started when I was 17 and went shopping at an outlet mall for the first time. (Now I'm almost 25)

Since then my downfall has mainly been Dillard's Sales/Donation Shops.
Rarely, when taking a mini weekend getaway I will purchase a few items from the Coach Factory Store. (This happens maybe twice a year)

I have now been a "purse hoarder" for a few years now.

Don't feel bad. There are many perfectly legitimate reasons for having more than one bag. For example: the ability to rotate your bags means now they will all have a longer life since they won't wear out as quickly. That's my favorite thing about having multiples. I haven't actually worn a purse out like I used to in years. It's all good! Enjoy your bags.

Thanks. I'm trying. I got them to treat myself after several years of hell -- kidney failure, advanced breast cancer, loss of job, ginormous blood clot and now Stage 4 kidney disease. Things have finally started looking up and I'm feeling more human ... hence the purchases. But that doesn't stop her from coming down hard on me for 'wasting' money. So, I feel guilty and think maybe she's right. I dunno. :confused1:

Enough about me. Carry on! :peace:

So sad to read about all that you've been through! I'm happy that things are starting to go better!
I really don't think it's wasting money; you got yourself something to make you feel good and that's never a waste!! Quite the contrary!

Hope you'll have a nice day and that you can shake the feeling of guilt (even though I now that it isn't always so easy.)

Thank you! OK, back to regularly scheduled programming. Sorry for the diversion.

The more I think about it, what started mine was my first bag in middle school ... an oxblood leather Etienne Aigner. Those were very popular in the early 80s. I loved the look and feel of it, as well as how well it was made.

The glory days of Etienne Aigner was what lured me in as well. So sad they cheapened the line up. Now they have revamped andare trying to compete with Coach and other higher end bags. I have yet to see the bags in person, so not sure of the quality. I get emails, and some are quite pretty.

I have always liked bags, but the addiction has got out of hand in the past 2 years. I have bought, purged, and loved so many bags it's kind of crazy. I think it's on account of my weight fluctuations and instead of splurging on nice clothes (which one day fit, one day don't), I gravitate towards bags. I have never been a shoe girl because my feet are picky.

I am hoping I stop now that I've achieved all my goals regarding handbags, but I often find myself browsing ebay or this site and a new lemming is formed quite quickly.

I totally agree, weight comes and goes, but doesn't affect a handbag! I've never been a shoe girl, my feet are too wide!

5 years ago, I became less interested in clothes and shoes when I gained weight after giving birth and it was about the same time I started buying & selling LV bags to add some fund for my grandpa's medicine and check-ups. So whenever I wait for buyers, I sometimes tried on the bags myself and thought, hey if I could sell these, I might as well own one! And own not but one I did!

And instead of buying clothes and shoes like I did when I have a 24-inch waistline and size 6 shoes, I put that money towards a bag.. And there goes my current bag addiction :p

My bag addiction started when I was around 16. My grandma gave me a vintage Mulberry bag (congo leather), and I fell in love with it. At that time, my style was very experimental, and I wore a lot of vintage, so of course that bag was perfect at that time. I didn't have any money to spend on expensive bags (or anything really) at that time, so I just enjoyed my gift. I started buying designer bags last year (I am now 24), but made some flea market/charity shop finds before then.

I still have that old Mulberry bag. I will never ever sell, it is really special to me. My grandmother passed away in February this year, and it feels good to still have that bag that reminds me of her and all the good times we had together:smile1:
