Unfortunately I was dissapointed, I don't like either of them on me:sad: I have just bought Shalimar again after decades,

I'm going back to perfumes I wore 30/40 years ago. I want to try Must de Cartier, although I was told that the one I used is rested. I also want to try L'Heure Bleue. I must be in a nostalgic mood!!
Shalimar is glorious on the right person.

I have bought samples of Must de Cartier EDT and EDP and am waiting to receive them. I have also tried Guerlain l'Heure Bleu but it's awful on me
It took some time for L’Heure Bleue to grow on me. There’s an anise note in there which can sometimes give off a slightly medicinal vibe but as I’ve worn it more, I have come to understand and even appreciate the nuance and counterpoint it adds to the composition. And as I’ve worn it more frequently, my nose seems to not be picking up as much of the anise as it did originally.

My vintage parfum was evaporating so I wore it in frequent rotation and truly came to appreciate the masterpiece that is L’ Heure Bleue. Unfortunately the parfum is hard to find and very expensive.
I still haven’t gotten around to trying the most recent iterations of EDT and EDP.

I want to get into Gurlein but not sure if any place near me has them available to sniff lol. An influencer I like recommends Cuir Beluga. Anyone know about this one?
I have a decant of Cuir Beluga somewhere but it’s been a while since I wore it. There’s a lovely vanilla in the drydown and the leather was quite subdued (if my recollection serves me correctly). Some of the department stores like saks used to carry it but I’m not sure if they still do. Your best bet may be to order decants from places like the Perfumed Court or Surrender to Chance.

If anyone has a recommendation for a tuberose I would be very grateful. That will be my next.

When I was a teen I used tuberose oil, I have been chasing that full-blown scent since. None of the essential oils (usually in alcohol) come close.

Tuberose and leather could work or tuberose and ylang ylang

Have you tried Carnal Flower? Ylang ylang is listed as one of the notes, but to be honest, I can’t say I pick up any significant amount of ylang from it, but I am going by recollection since I haven’t used it in a while. Waiting for the weather to warm up to bring out the tuberose perfumes. Anyway, it’s definitely one to sample - it has a green nuance especially in the opening and is quite a stunning tuberose scent.

I have a sample of Hiram Green Moon Bloom and will try it on soon to remind myself of it, but I think you would like it. My recollection is that it had the lushness you might be looking for in a tuberose perfume.

Your description of a full blown scent made me think of Fracas also but only in pure parfum and only a dab or two.

Estee Lauder Tuberose Gardenia might be worth a sniff. As the name suggests it leans more white floral with gardenia, jasmine and some orange blossom so not sure if that is quite what you’re looking for.

Tubereuse Criminelle by Serge Lutens is a lovely tuberose, but the mentholated opening is not for everyone. I happen to love the fragrance despite the interesting opening which fades off, leaving behind a true tuberose.

Lastly, I must mention a sample I had and used up of Elizabeth W Tuberose. It was a beautiful tuberose soliflore and I don’t know if they even make it anymore but I have always thought about buying it.

Those are the ones that immediately come to mind. Tuberose and leather is leaving me blank at the moment but someone else who has sampled more current niche tuberose perfumes might have some suggestions.

Honorable mentions because they’re discontinued: Guerlain Mahora, a fantastic, lush, rich tuberose, and Balenciaga Michelle, lovely buttery tuberose, especially in pure parfum.

I used to wear Fracas which is a classic Tuberose, glorious....I'm not familiar with others.

Purchased some new perfumes from a local manufacturer!IMG_0710.webp

RosX for myself

I found the cumin note interesting in the rose X (they wanted to make a fragrance that recalled the entire rose bush aka the plant, the smell of the flower and the earth itself)
