What makes you choose RH over GH? and vice versa?

I only like GH on bigger bags, and even then I don't really like it. personally I only like GH in part time. plus rh is a little lighter and not as flashy. certain gh combos work better with certain colors.
if you get the city, i would personally think you should get the rh. gh looks so busy and weird proportioned on the city.
the day has a little more space for gh, but i still like rh. however gsh with sapphire is still amazing!!

i generally don't like prominent hardware so the gh is not for me. plus it's too heavy. also, as a practical matter, i don't like hardware on bags to clash with jewelry and other accessories. rh can be worn with everything.
RH looks so much better. The only time i'd go for GH is on the weekenders because it suits the large size!
The RH looks kind of, I dunno, dull to me. They look GREAT when worn in tho but I've always been a fan of hardware which is why the GH just sings to me. Mmmm sexy sexy hardware. Also with kittens I think the tassels would NOT be a good idea for me right now. 
i am so torn between the rh & the gh so i would definitely get a gh bag for when i am in a safe environment - ie mall, restos and then use the rh for when i'm travelling - subways, taxis, public parks etc.
a part of me says that GHs people are the hey i rock type, which is also a part of me. but another part of me doesn't want to be flashy.
So i'll be getting both. I'm so tempted to get a black cherry twiggy and a black cherry city in GSH!

The day is GH and the City in RH. The day is a pretty basic bag...add the GH and it gives it character. The City size ratio factor calls for RH. The GH on a city can sometimes seem like a bit much for such a smaller surface. Oh not to mention the weight of a GH city will be some thing to consider too. The day pulls off the weight just fine with GH.
kicks, that is why I absolutely love the giant covered hardware, along with the perf. leather. It dresses the bag up and is toned down and not blingy like with GSH and GGH. It also isn't quite as heavy I've found.
I prefer regular on City, it's classic.
I like the GH on the Part-Time, because I think the size of the PT can carry the hardware better than smaller bags.
I love the Work and the Weekender in BOTH types because the tassels give it a bohemian & sexy look. Those bags both look crazy hot with those tassels hanging and dangling! However, I also think both the larger sizes of the Work and Wee look classy and sexy with those thimbles blinging.
Then color comes into the equation . . . some colors look better with GH bling and others are sexier and maybe even more understated with the RH.
What can I say, Balenciaga has got it down and that's why it's so hard to make a decision when choosing a bag and that's why collecting them is so addictive.

I agree! I'm having a very hard time deciding on my future black city. I love the look of all the HW on it. How will I ever decide????
I like both Giant and RH on Day bags and the Club bags but only RH on city's. Giant on Days is beautiful and not heavy but on city's I don't like the weight and seems like too much going on.
