I have a few Feragamo bags because of the design. It's different from LV as far as pricing goes. But I think LV does have a better resale value since it never goes on sale and it does not have an outlet store.

I think I have seen HRH wear the beige Ferragamo Vara pumps (think that's the name...they change it every now and then for some reason) in one of the pics. Don't know if she wears the brand exclusively though.

Sorry, I don't know how I missed this :shrugs:

I'm loving the Gancio Lock Clutch in the latest campaign with Kate Moss, it's just classic.
Also the Sofia in deep red pony hair is divine but I worry about how the hair on the corners will wear over time.
I own two vintage alligator Ferragamo bags and I like how structured they are, it's a nice contrast to all the slouch bags.

How about you?

A lot of people talk about Sofia...maybe that is something that I need to look at for my first purchase. I don't have any plan to buy anything at the moment as I just got my Alma couple months ago. I must admit I love their heels and flats.

I like Ferragamo because it's classy, elegant, and high-quality, but not obvious like some other designers. You kind of have to be in-the-know to recognize Ferragamo. My boyfriend also loves Ferragamo (ties, shoes, belts, leather goods) for the same reason. It's luxury without being gaudy.

I'm drawn to Ferragamo because of the design, quality, and durability. Their design is classic, timeless, and subtle, their design doesn't shout at you from the mountaintop. It is IMHO reasonably priced, I have their wallet in this style:

I have it in red patent leather, bought it for less than $500 but for the quality of the leather and the craftsmanship, I'd say that price is a steal.

Sometimes I can be quite reckless with my wallet, I'd overstuff my purse and take it in/out quite recklessly yet my Ferragamo survived all the beatings. Sometimes I am so surprised at how good it still looks after all my man-handling :amuse: all the stitches still in place, the hardware doesn't tarnish, the patent leather still in good condition only some corners/nooks have darkened a little bit. I mean, you definitely can tell that the wallet is not new but in no way does it look worn out.

I love the Ferragamo medium sized Sofia bag, because of the design, quality and in comparison with LV it is not overexposed. The quality of the LV in this pricerange is not as good as in SF. I have a Sofia in pink ostrich (SS2010 collection) and I today I ordered the Sofia in astrakan (FW 2012 collection). It is a wonderful bag to carry, like the Hermés Kelly, and the price is something completely different. I like the lining as well and that the bag has a zipper pocket at the back and inside 2 pockets for phone and agenda/wallet and a zipper pocket. It is absolutely timeless and I love carrying the pink ostrich, because of the attention and admiration it receives. I will go to Rome in springtime and will definitely visit the SF main boutique to look at some Sofias.

All SF I've seen have been top quality and I'm extremely spoiled and always want the best. Hermés has better quality in exotics but then we are talking about another pricerange.

I personally think LV is not worth the price, especially their coated canvas pieces. You can buy a continental coated canvas wallet at LV for 700-800 dollars or buy a calf leather wallet at Ferragamo for 500.

And like everyone else said, Ferragamo's trademark is elegant and understated luxury. I think LV is more like in-your-face-i-spent-a-lot-of-money-on-this type of luxury. It's personal preference what kind of look you're going for.

I have one pair of Ferragamo patent leather mules (1.5 or 2" heel). They are on the conservative/classic side and very comfy. Gosh, I purchased these over 5 years ago. I got them on sale. I don't wear them as much because my foot has grown. When I have worn them, I get compliments. They look brand new (except for some light scuffing on the sole). The craftsmanship is excellent.
