Stop by Woodbury outlets in New York. Here are some pics. I have a lot more in my stories on Instagram. I would have to reduce the resolution to upload them here and I don't have the time.

Hi seton! I know this isn't overtly the topic of the thread, but I've been wondering about this for a few months and didn't see anything pop up in the forum (but didn't feel like it was worthy of its own post).
Do you - or anyone - have any idea why stores in the Northeast US are closing? I had no idea about KoP and tried to go there over the summer to check a few things out and it was totally empty and shuttered...and now I'm seeing that Short Hills and GSP are also closed...that's really surprising to me (those all seem like malls that have weathered the ebb and flow away from and back to brick and mortar).
Or maybe others have intel on overall retail strategy? Based on things in the forum, the stores seem to be busy and I don't get the impression LC is losing popularity in general (in fact - probably the opposite!).

The Short Hills store closed bc they opened up a store in GSP. The GSP store was open for only a yr. It prob wasn't making enough money, simple as that.

I think LC does best in cities, not suburbia. The Dallas store recently did a remodeling and is still going strong. I mentioned when it first opened somewhere in this thread. SH, GSP, and KOP were all in suburbia.

Thank you for your insight, Seton!!

In addition to what Seton said - I read in a few French magazines and newspapers (here’s one source, in case you’re curious) a while back that ever since Covid restrictions hit, Longchamp has decided to focus on developing online sales. Their sales volume apparently tripled during lockdown thanks to webshop transactions.

Which means that they’ll be possibly be closing more and more physical boutiques, especially in the US, which is not seen as a ‘priority market’ compared to east Asia, where nearly 1/3 of LC’s profits come from. And the first to go will be the suburban ones, not the flagships in large cities. A flagship can haemorrhage money and brands will keep them open because 1) it’s good advertising, and 2) for the prestige. Suburban boutiques don’t have that advantage.

I've been to:

Woodbury Commons outlet
Bichester Outlet
Halton Hills Outlet
Yorkdale in Toronto
Rosemont Outlet
Caesars Forum Shop in Las Vegas
Singapore Duty Free Airport

Heading to Paris and Nice sometime next year...which store location in Paris is the best to visit? Do France stores sell unique items that they don't sell online or in North America?

The airport boutiques at CDG almost always have an exclusive Pliage design available. It changes every year or two.

The boutique that I always visit in Paris is St Honoré in the 1st arrondissement, because they have 1 out of the 2 hot stamping machines in the country  You can get any Pliage (both nylon and Cuir/Xtra) bag's flap stamped there, even ones that you've purchased elsewhere. They have some symbols that you won't find anywhere else, like the Eiffel tower, but you do have to ask specifically for them because most people only want to stamp their initials. As for bags, at the moment, all of the Paris city centre boutiques, including the kiosks at Galeries Lafayette and Printemps, should have a Paris-exclusive navy travel bag with a macaron motif on the front.

Never been to Nice, so unfortunately I can't advise on what the shopping is like over there. Hope you'll enjoy your upcoming holiday here :flowers:
