What kind of bag do you carry to work?

I just carry my LV Neverfull MM to work as that fits what I usually need day-to-day. I add a cloth tote (e.g. Cath Kidston, MbyMJ) if I'm in the mood to carry a smaller bag, am going out after work or need to carry more papers/laptop.

My surface pro goes into its sleeve and then into a tote with the rest of my work stuff. My handbags are usually small or medium size so my work files wouldn't fit. Besides, it changes depending on my mood. I drive to the office so having 2 bags is fine with me. I don't like putting my work stuff into my handbag. I also don't pack a lunch.

Hi! I keep on being indecisive and going between carrying all my stuff to work in a huge bag or having a separate work bag for stuff and then having my everywhere stuff in a small bag.

Right now I have:

Minkoff MAC for everyday/everywhere essentials - iPad, iPhone, battery pack, makeup, cash, cards, etc.

and a

Coach baby bag for work things- macbook, papers to work on, pencils, adaptors, etc.

How do you guys manage?

Ha! the perpetual challenge!

I moved from a drive-to-work city to a walk and take-the-train-and-bus city, which means bag changes. Still working out what that is, and still going back and forth between:
--one tote
--small bag and separate tote
--backpack
--backpack or sling and small bag

Depends on:
--work-load (laptop, paperwork, kitchen sink, entire desk)...
--weather (rain, snow, ice, sun, fire, flood) ...
--weather ammunition needs (umbrella, scarf, gloves, hat, helmet, crampons, ice-axe)...
--what's up (all-day meetings, travel, conference, normal office-day)...
--what else (until next bag-change opportunity, what is good enough for all of it yet perfect for NONE of it)...
--pain (what did I do to myself / shoulder / back with yesterday's choices)...
--MOOD (what bag / setup am I feeling -- even if utterly ridiculous after considering all of the above)

All of which means I keep looking for / lusting after/ trying out new bags that could do more / do it better/ bring great bag-delight in the process.

I feel you on this :( currently carry a large leather tote bag with all purse things and my lunch bag in it... But I will be coaching this winter and having to run from work to other activities, have purchased a backpack for that and plan to take extra clothing some times and an extra dinner/snack bag to eat once at the events. Not sure yet if I'll end up packing more into the backpack and then moving the reg purse stuff into a smaller purse... Ugh hate carrying so much stuff around but feel like I'd be in trouble without it all!

I tried having all my stuff in the same bag. Didn't work. I got such terrible.neck and back pains. Now I have a backpack for work stuff and a medium/small bag for personal things.

My work stuff includes:
money, with 60€ of it being in coins so it weighs a lot
hat
safety vest
2 A4 folders full of papers
first aid kit
flashlight

I just wish I worked in an office and I'd only have to lug around a laptop and a binder. Then again, I get to travel all day long and see views like this:

I prefer two bags, but I drive to work. I have a Dooney nylon bag that's similar to a Longchamp that carries my magazine, iPad, Kindle, umbrella, scarf, and lunch. I don't take my work home as that's family time. Also, our afternoons and weekends are too busy for that anyway. I carry small to medium handbags do I don't find it cumbersome at all to do both.
When my sons were babies, I tried to do the whole diaper bag with my stuff and the baby stuff in one bag. I just found that I like to keep my things separate from baby/work. I always felt like I was forgetting something when I combined the two.

I used to try and do one bag, but then I found that I was pretty much only carrying my Mansur Gavriel tote and Le Pliages and not giving my other bags enough love. So now I usually carry whatever handbag I want and use a Le Pliage for my computer and some files. Or I just carry my laptop in its sleeve and have a smaller purse.

I make it work with two bags. One is for my laptop and foodstuffs (a plain canvas tote). The other is my handbag, which I switch out depending on my mood. Usually it's a large carry-all but I do on occasion switch to a crossbody or something smaller.

I love a view like this.

I have my one bag that's big enough to hold a light document along with my misc personal stuff. On the day that I need to hold more than that, I bring extra tote.

I don't normally have to bring work stuff home but when I do, or when I have meetings outside of the office and I have documents with me, I use this black N/S Le Pliage Longchamp Cabas as my extra bag. It's lightweight and since it is black, it still looks professional IMO.

I have a separate bag for laptop and files so I can carry whatever purse I feel like for the day. I like this solution because I feel it's classier than a backpack, my purses go through more rotation, and if I go wandering at lunch I can just take my purse!

This is my set up for today:
Knomo laptop bag and TB micro Robinson.

I use one bag to hold everything. I started off using a Longchamp Le Pilage, but it was like a black hole so I switch to a LV DE Neverfull MM. The Neverfull was okay but it wore terribly. Then I switched to my current Banana Republic Larkin tote in a luggage brown color. It goes with everything and holds a ton. The straps are also very comfortable. Plus, it was inexpensive.

While my Larkin tote works well, I'm still looking at the LV Neverfull MM in epi noir which I'm hoping would wear better. I love how it's black and comes with the pouch which I could use as a clutch when I run to quickly grab lunch or coffee.
