That’s interesting about soldering the posts, did you decide to do that to make them more secure or did you have any issues?
Haven’t been able to post much recently but I’m delighted with a redesign/reset of an aquamarine ring that I had in platinum which was a bargain from a local pawnbroker - to which I have also added a coordinating necklace (also in platinum) My jeweller did a great job and the ring has been transformed! 
Original ring (flimsy setting, wonky prongs, scissor cut aqua with a large window, poor quality side stones):
Redesigned ring (study platinum setting, aqua recut to a cushion with window eliminated, new VS/F quality diamond trapezoids added as side stones):

Thanks, I’m so happy with them. The ring was a gift from DH originally, so I was nervous about redesigning/resetting it but needn’t have been as he is thrilled with the final result!
