I've lost sooo much over the years, one of my rings fell in a lake, one of my necklaces got thrown out, some of my pave diamond pieces have fallen out from several pieces and the worst is my mom, her house was burglarized, she lost some really nice rings, bangles and a diamond watch.

I lost my diamond tennis bracelet.. It was something that I was lemming after for ages.. till one day I finally received it as a birthday present.

It must have come undone at work and trust me.. i re-traced my steps a million and one times.. till now I feel a little sad when I see its empty compartment in my jewellery case.

Sigh. And, the weirdest thing was the same week my sister lost her diamond cluster ring as well..

Well, I guess lesson learned.. Post-incident.. I am very paranoid about all my jewellery now and have sent all of them to the jewellers to get them checked.. and have decided not to get another tennis bracelet unless I am going to superglue it to my wrist.

a day before my bday i happen to break my diamond stud with my car window getting in the car and it fell idk where. i searched for 3hrs till street cleaning came by and it was just lost, i cried since it was my first diamond earrings ever and my bf's gift to me for our 1 yr. -sigh- at least i still had the rt ear stud to remembr

My worst story is luckily just a near miss!
My parents went overseas for 3 months, and while they were gone, I had an important formal occasion. My mother worked for a jeweler and therefore has some quite impressive pieces as she would get them all at cost.
I borrowed her diamond and mabe pearl earring and a matching mabe pearl choker (a large pearl in the middle, with 3 strands of pearls on either side. 18k gold and diamonds as well.
Naturally she made some joke about me having to pay to replace them if I were to lose them.
After they had been gone for about a month, I got a call at work one day....it was the police, and my housemate and I had been burgled. They had caught the two that did it walking down the street with trash bags full of our stuff, they looked suspicious so the police had stopped them.
As they looked through the bags, they found the stub from one of my work pay cheques and then they confessed, so the police called me.
All I could think about was the pearls!
Luckily I had hidden them, wrapped in tissue paper in the pocket of an old school uniform that I was holding on to for nostalgic reasons, figuring if we did get robbed, then they would never want to take that.
I guess I was right! Even though we did eventually get all our stuff back, I was still a nervous wreck until I handed the pearls back to my mother.
The funny thing is that was when I was 20 - 20 years ago, and I have never told her about it!

I have only ever lost one ring, and I have no idea where, it wasn't loose enough to come off, and I always though I would find it around the house one day, but even when I had the carpets replaced it didn't turn up, so that one is a mystery to me. It was a gold swirl with a few small diamonds, I had bought it for myself, so no great sentimental value.

My best friend took off her e-ring and wedding band and her heavy gold chain and put them in the glove compartment of her car when she went to play basketball....she was in the car-park of the stadium when she did it, and someone must have seen her, because when she got back the car had been broken into, and that was all that was missing. She'd only been married for less than a year.

I lost my tiffany lock bracelet and I don't even know how I lost it. And recently, I almost lost my tiffany tennis bracelet my parents got me. I think they will kill me if I did. Nowadays I'm very careful if I'm wearing something very expensive and I stopped wearing them on a daily basis. I'm planning to get a tiffany silver bracelet to wear everyday.

Ooooh. I used to wear the Tiffany round tag charm bracelet prior to getting my tennis bracelet.. Yes, it's really an everyday use and abuse item..

:wtf: Oh My! And I have movers pack all my stuff.

It was really a bad situation- they even took music tapes/CD's, VHS tapes (these were days before the DVD was even a thought and I think we still had a Beta machine too!) and some of my little brother's baby items! Afterward, a lot of ppl, even the moving co. told them that they should pack valuables and sentimental items and not rely on the employees, which I suspect were subcontractors or independent contractors w/ the moving co.

for the life of me, i have no idea what happened to the Dior Beauty earrings w/the black beads that I bought last year . . . . maybe they're @ the ex's house . . . :push: . . . lucky for me that this season they come in white, which i like better anyway! :wlae:

The only pieces that I loved enough to remember are my silver leaf ring, sterling silver flower necklace, and a sterling silver heart ring. They were are dainty and perfect for wearing everyday. The leaf ring might be somewhere in my friends boat.

My late grandmother got into the habit of storing her 2 ct. diamond ring in toilet paper. She reported it missing one day and never saw it again. Our guess was my grandfather thought it was trash and flushed it down the toilet. But the good thing that came out of it was a brand new 4 ct. diamond from my grandfather to make up for the loss.

I hope he bought her a jewelry box to keep it in this time. Putting it in toilet paper is just asking for trouble.

I've only temporarily lost things, like when a ring rolled under a dresser or I put a necklace in a velvet box instead of my jewelry box.
