Hello All,
Just curious to hear about what Jewellery you have lost over the years....

A friend of mine lost her 1.5ct e ring......
Another friend lost a 1ct D VS ear ring......

Keen to hear about the worst tales of woe.

My HS class ring was stolen along with a half dozen employee's coats by some lucky customer when I worked at a pizza restaurant while I was 19.

My 1st diamond from my e-ring fell out about 10 years into our marriage, I still think it fell out while grocery shopping - when 1 of 4 prongs in it's setting broke off. Hubby eventually replaced the stone with a slightly larger solitaire & had them upgrade the setting to 6 prongs; still have that, but just had the bands soldered together when a prong started eroding from several years of the wedding band spinning.

My mother had a wonderful 3-diamond e-ring & band in white gold that disappeared a few days before she passed away. My father originally picked it up in the early 60's when he was stationed in the military in Africa. She was in an Alzheimers assisted care facility - we think that it was probably not even stolen, but thrown away as she had started to wrap small items into wads of tissue paper and hide them around her room.

When I was 14 I lost a tennis bracelet, thank god it was only rhinestones. My mother has the real deal and will never let me carry any of her stuff because of that.

a few years ago we were in Cancun and went out on that banana tube that is pulled by a boat.

After a few rough turns we slowed down and one of my gold/diamond earrings came out of my ear and I watched it slowly sink in the clear blue waters. I was in shock just watching it.

I was sad because it was too deep to even attempt to find it but I learned a lesson to always take off my jewelry if I'm going to do any water sports.

I lost a diamond earring - just the front but I still had the backing for the missing earring. I replaced it about a year later from the same jeweler. I wear these earrings everyday, so now I'm extra careful when I remove the earrings from my ears to make sure that all 4 pieces (fronts and backs) are together.

My mom lost a diamond solitaire pendant. She hid it away somewhere and can't find it. It's been lost for over a decade, but one day maybe she will find it.

I've been lucky (so i don't want to jinx myself) but i nearly lost my fav eternity ring because i miss placed my purse & i'd popped it into a side pocket. I was lucky enough to find my purse phew! :sweatdrop:

My Nana has been very unlucky with jewellery, she lost an antique amethyst & opal ring that she thinks the cat knocked it into the bin from her side table. An Opal fell out of her favorite ring, & a gorgeous antique diamond cluster got stolen on holiday!

She also misplaced a gold locket with huge huge huge sentimental value, she thought she'd lost it but i found it hidden in a black velvet pouch in a black velvet lined bangle box it was hidden in the centre of the bangle & because my Nana's sight is bad she didn't see it. She was soooo happy to get it back. :p

I lost a very dear ring that my mom gave to me when I was 12. My FIRST piece of "real" jewelry. We bought it in Florence, Italy. It was an 18k yellow gold ring with a tiny round ruby with two tiny round diamonds on the side. I wore it through junior high and sometime during high school, it was gone. I have a strong suspicion that my little cousin stole it from me (she had later admitted to stealing "some jewelry from you" but didn't give anything back nor did she specify which things she took). I am still sad over it, especially since it was a special gift from my Mom, who is now very ill and in the final stages of her disease.

I also lost a tiny platinum band that Mom had given me in high school. I suspect the same cousin of taking it. ARGH!!!!!

I had a pearl bracelet that came unclasped and fell off at a store once.

When my parents moved when I was younger, the movers stole pretty much all the jewelry. My parents had never had movers before and were too trustworthy. I lost the first "real" ring I ever had that way- it was a blue aqua in yellow gold my mom got me. They also took my mom's first e-ring from her ex-husband, which was supposed to go to me and be placed in a pendant when I was 16.

I lost my first diamond tennis bracelet while going down the ski slope. It musta gotton caught on the glove's ziper. Unfortunately, I didn't discovered it til I was way down the mountain. I'm sure it made someone's day, since I couldn't find it after backtracking. :s

My late grandmother got into the habit of storing her 2 ct. diamond ring in toilet paper. She reported it missing one day and never saw it again. Our guess was my grandfather thought it was trash and flushed it down the toilet. But the good thing that came out of it was a brand new 4 ct. diamond from my grandfather to make up for the loss.

Oh my god! I am truly sorry to hear about all of your lost items (especially the sentimenal pieces).

The only major thing for me was a gorgeous diamond stud earring....i haven't the faintest idea where or when it was lost :(
