Gold hardware....I have a couple of accessories and my zebra tote that has light gold. I actually like the change. It's not too bold, and it's nice to switch it up!!
I also don't mind dog leash closure or magnetic snaps. It use to be a no no, but I keep my things secure.

Apparently satchels aren't a hard stop for me anymore, since I now own a Kelsey and a Sophia. Kelsey has a cross body strap, and Sophia has a shoulder strap, both of which which I use, but I find myself also carrying them in the crook of my arm sometimes which I have NEVER done in my entire life.

I used to say NO COMPARTMENTS/SECTIONS. I owned 2 Maggie's and as cute and lovely they were I just hated how it felt like I was carrying a football bag on my shoulder!! It would bulge out too much for my body shape.....then I got Phoebe! Boy did that bag get made perfectly!! She stays on my shoulder with no problems and the leather on it is amazing and soft that it just molds to my body!!! And even my legacy 2 tone north/south satchel has sections but I can TOTALLY live with it ^_^

Hate to say "I told you so"....but I will anyway!!!! :graucho::p

I used to carry neutral colors only till I joined tpf years ago, then saw the pretty reveals and mod shots so changed my mind.

I used to say no compartments, but made exception for gorgeous cranberry Phoebe. I think I lucked out as the previous owner got a wonderfully smooth one that is to die for. I don't think I can do more compartments than Phoebe and May never get another with compartments than this one Phoebe.

I used to say no break away zipper and besides this one black violet mini tanner, I still feel that way. I made a one time exception.

Still no on suede bags, white bags, super light colors (color transfer worries), and no MFF or any signature bags.

My issue now it light linings. I wish coach would have kept the stunning red in their black Sophia's..
I ended up letting my embellished Sophia for that reason.
I'm not into patent bags anymore..
I've slowly been letting mine go..
Lately I'm
Loving gold hardware..

This isn't a deal breaker but it might keeping me from "loving a bag" and prevent me from making an impulse buy - and maybe that's a good thing!

But I am not crazy about the rather plain and dull linings that Coach is now using in some of their bags; see the attached picture of the plain linen (or cotton) lining on the inside of my colorblock Rory - blah! This bag is gorgeous on the outside so why not on the inside too?!

It always makes me happy to open a bag and see beautiful bright colors and a shiny sateen lining!

I'm another who no longer avoids compartments in purses. Was never a fan of Maggie or of any of the carry-alls, but I have changed my tune! I still love my satchels, but I really like the compartment aspect of the Phoebe and the cafe carry-all.

I was thinking back over my deal breaker list from a past tpf thread & realized that I've changed my mind on a few things.
I said I don't carry gold hw bags, but now I have a phoebe, saffiano tote, duffle, rory & 2 MK bags w/ gold hw.
I said I don't like bags w/ compartments, but now I'm a "phoebeliever"! :)
I wasn't into loud colored bags, but I adore my uv duffle & bright coral rory.
But the other things like animal print, fur, suede, patent, patchwork, crazy Cs, sequins, satchel only carry & breakaway zippers are still deal breakers for me.

What about you? What bags have made you change your "deal breaker list"?

WOW....it's like you read my mind :amazed:

Every single thing you've said except for the breakaway zippers. I do have maybe 3, but they are definitely not in my regular rotation.

The only real deal breakers I have (besides fur) are heavy bags and bags that won't stay on my shoulders. I generally test them out at the store for a bit. It's pretty easy for me to tell if one will stay on or not. Don't care too much about hardware, as long as whatever has been used looks good with the bag, though I tend towards gold HW. I used to say no to animal print because it just doesn't seem like it'd go with enough "stuff" in my wardrobe (I wear a lot of shirts with pattern on them) but I do like my Madison convertible crossbody in zebra print fabric and have found things to wear with it.

I agree ^ small bags are becoming more intriguing to me. I love some of the styles, especially the Mini Preston. It looks deceiving, but it seems to open wide and hold enough.
All in all, Coach, makes small and large and very few in between lol.
