Beautiful! I want one but I live in California. I will have to wait for my next trip and hope for the best!
I live in the south east and this shipped from the Madison Avenue store and fedex took it on a road trip to CA. I low key panicked that they’d dispose of it lol. Thankfully it arrived safe and sound!!

So apparently my self-discipline has abandoned all pretences of ever being there for me, and has absconded to live a life of pretty privilege with a count in Cap Ferrat for all I know…

My friend and I made an unscheduled trip to Harrods today, and despite my repeated reminders to my sorry self that I should be concentrating my spending in my home store, and also, not buying ANYTHING, given the unexpected Genius purchase barely 2 weeks prior, I found myself asking about the Olympe ear cuff and whether they had any in stock that matched my exacting requirements. I wanted one in Rose Gold Hardware, in an exotic leather, and preferably in jewel tones, confident that they would have none in stock and I could be on my merry way.

But of course, because why should my wallet get any succour, the “gatekeeper” S.A. checked on her phone and found an option that might work. She also said that if I knew that was exactly what I wanted, they could fast track me and avoid the queue. I thought, no, it’s fine, put me on the regular queue, so that I have time to consider this lunacy, and perhaps calm the ever-living daylight out of me before deciding on another frivolous purchase. When I was ushered to the S.A. taking names down, and telling her what I was looking for, she then immediately assigned me to the cute SA who helped me procure my Genius sandals during my last sojourn to Harrods, saying I didn’t have to wait at all…

Balls…

We chatted for a bit and we caught up, and the S.A. went away to go get the ear cuff, which took ages as they had to get it from the stock room.

But when it was revealed, I knew I couldn’t keep up with the performative hemming and hawing - I knew I had to take it home.

Le sigh… AGAIN!

Lo and behold, I finally got the ear cuff in the specifications that matched my parameters - Rose Gold in exotic leather; specifically lizard, in the gorgeous Bleu Saphir shade! After seeing it in person, I couldn’t refuse it!

I knew the logical thing would have been to wait and try my luck at my home store, but given that the nature of Hermes feels like you have to take what you can get when you see it available, I couldn’t really resist!

Not sure what I love more: your writing or your little gold cuff!!! Congrats - reading about your little treasure find made me smile.

Wow!! Love it, and your narrative was fabulous :flowers: it’s like we were there as you chided yourself and went ahead anyway. But how could you not? It’s beautiful, and just what you wanted. Your self discipline can buzz off:P I’m sure it will be back after its fling! Congratulations. It should look great with your sandals, and B, and…..

Aww, thank you all so much for your compliments.

I have a habit of going off into my own little narrative when I'm writing, and I hope it's been entertaining enough, rather than tedious! My love for retail therapy seems to trigger this desire to paint a picture through my words... LOL!

I am fond of neither costume jewelry nor stacking but I need something to 'enlarge' this vintage Omega that belongs to my mother. This watch is as old as me or just slightly younger. As a child, I borrowed this watch all the time.
A few years ago, I asked her for it as she no longer wears it. I refurbished it and found out, it looked odd and tiny on me (I normally wear an imposing steel Cartier Pasha diver for women). I love how good the watch and Roulis double tour in gold and black look together.

Love your narratives, it’s entertaining and enjoyable. Especially for those of us like me that don’t get to go boutique shopping as often as we wish!! Keep shopping and scribing! :flowers:
