Here's one excited Paris first-timer looking forward for the travel, Adele concert, and of course, shopping this coming summer. I think we're pretty okay on our itinerary, but my heart is still not set on what to buy in Paris.

Paris is one of my dream places to visit and I know purchasing something from there will make my first visit really special.

I don't have a Chanel yet, and as my first thought, wow, first Chanel on my first Paris trip! Heaven!...One problem though, I'm not really feeling the classic flap or boy. For some reason, I'm turned off on items that everyone wants. I also have WOCs in other brand (Ferragamo, Burberry) so I'm also contemplating if I need a Chanel WOC. But I have my mind open for a possible change of heart when I get there [emoji6]

I was a Goyard convert last year with their reversible Anjou in black. I like this tote a lot, but I usually don't buy same stuff in different colors.

I'm also pretty set with my LV empreinte speedy in aubergine. So unless I see a unique find in Paris store, I think I'm skipping LV.

I love Hermes. I have a Picotin and Cabag, but I don't think I'm eyeing yet for a Birkin or Kelly. These 2 doesn't fit my age and lifestyle yet. Should I just get a bracelet as my "Paris" item? Sandals?

I still have a number of months to think things through for this fun problem, and maybe sharing your "I Got It In Paris" item will help [emoji6]

Thanks in advance!

My first Paris trip I bought a Chloe Marcie medium. I've bought some beautiful boots by sartore another time. Faure le page is nice. We purchased my husbands wallet there. I'd probably hit Chanel and Hermes. I want Chanel shopper or chevron flap. From Hermes I want to check out the roulis. Are you looking for French brands only? The Louis Vuitton store is epic there. I would also check out delvaux or fendi.

I bought a dusty pink Chanel seasonal flap I chanced upon and immediately fell in love. Also a super hard to find in my home country LV rose ballerine pink clemence wallet. AND a LV empriente Montaigne bb which was way cheaper in Europe than my home country.

Looking forward to everyone's great advice here! I'm also headed to Paris later this year and planning my acquisitions :)

I've been going over my "wish list" items and seeing what is most favorably priced in Paris given the exchange rates/VAT refund - maybe that is a good place to start as well?

I'm going off the question here a bit. I tend to buy jewelry when I go to Paris. I love Cartier. And I bought my husband a Rolex. I don't tend to buy bags overseas. It's always jewelry. No idea why. Hmmm...

I love Cartier too. I'm sold with my trinity ring. And I am really consider a jewelry too as I may be using it more often as a staple item than a purse [emoji6]

Same boat here [emoji6] I started looking at price differences too, and I noticed Chanel doesn't offer now much differences in prices between US and Europe stores. Looks likes Hermes & LV belong to the price gap bucket.

I would also hope that you just have fun in the city, and if that includes shopping so be it, the Paris flagship stores of Dior, Chanel and Hermes are worth seeing just step inside.

It wouldn't hurt to go to stores there are not so many anywhere else like Moynat, Perrin and the Belgium brand Delvaux has a beautiful store Jardins du Palais Royal
