i find this a really hard question to answer because mine has changed over the years.
I love the colour blue - especially royal blues. so I used to love sapphires a lot. Then I fell in love with tanzanite's.
I also love the colour purple so amethyst has been huge one for me. Especially in early years.
Green has made its way onto my radar - and so have a recent affection for emeralds and tourmalines.
I have also been trying to find an amazing aquamarine to add to the collection.

I always seem to gravitate to blues and purples. I love those hues. Greens have been a welcome addition :)

White diamonds go with everything so that makes them super.

Tourmalines and tanzanite. Tourmalines because they come in so many different colors. I have a beautifully cut four-carat blue/green tourmaline that is currently in a pendant but I plan to turn it into a right-hand ring. Tanzanites because with good ones, the color just pops in such a great way. I recently saw a double strand of grey pearls with a white gold, tanzanite and diamond clasp. Looked amazing.

I love opals -- Something about the fire in each piece and how it changes with the light draws me in. There are so many different colors in opals and they tend to go with everything so I would say that other than diamonds, opals are my favorite. I also love moonstones - they have the same pearly, oplaescent look beneath a smooth, cool exterior that I'm inevitably down to them. I also love the color blue (aquamarine, blue topaz) but can't wear either as much as I'd like so opals and moonstones win!

Garnets and pearls. <3

I also love moonstones and opals.

Garnet is my birthstone and I love that deep, rich burgundy color. I also love rhodolite garnets, purple-y deep pink. So pretty!

Pearls, they are so soft and feminine. They glow.

Moonstones and opals have that beautiful translucent quality. It's like there is a very soft light inside the stone.

I like rubies a lot, too. If I were to ever have a colored engagement ring, I'd choose a ruby with a diamond halo.

Wow I’m learning about so many stones that I didn’t know about - like tanzanite, prasiolite etc. I think out of all the stones mentioned by others I especially love rubies (beautiful glowing red which is one of my favourite colours), aquamarine and pearls, especially south sea pearls! It’s my dream to buy several pearl strands in all colours and slightly differing lengths so I can wear like 5 strands at the same time and completely fill my neck :D
