I bet your Etsy one is gorgeous, too! :flowers: The BV Pouch is expensive, but I've loved it since it came out and I think I'll use it enough to get a good cost per wear. I get anxious in some situations so cradling the Pouch is almost like holding a security blanket or something

I'd love to get a Kelly Pochette or Kelly Cut someday, but I think when you add their cost plus the pre-spend to get an offer they're wayyyyy out of my budget! Maybe in a few years...

Thank you! I love Etsy  I may have bought the BV pouch if I had a car lifestyle, but I don’t. So I was a little wary of buying a bag that was only hand held And somewhat large. For that kind of bag, with limited usage for me, about 500-600 total for two of them, one off white and then one caramel, was right.

Re Hermes, if you don’t want to pre spend for other boutique merchandise, there are many reasonable resellers. There used to be kelly cuts for below retail on Asian reseller sites, some years ago. I think nowadays, there are good deals on CDC medor clutches, jiges, JPG shoulders and jypseries, and 32/35s. There are also many relatively unknown, gorgeous H clutches and other bags too! I picked up a silver metallic chèvre clutch, with great phw for 800usd last year.

I got some great deals last year, like BBK 28, phw and Black Barenia B30, phw for about 7K usd each, and IMO, they were in very good preowned condition that @docride refurbished perfectly. I believe the prices will eventually come down again and it’s a matter of being patient and being flexible. your bag will come!

edit: @mocktail, I did a quick search on ebay. While the kelly pochette was priced sky high, there were a few relatively reasonable kelly cuts. should you eventually decide to go preloved, I’m sure you will have choices.

For me because I like variety and use a few different sizes, I don’t spend that much. Most of my bags are less than $200 if not $100, but I do have a couple in higher brackets, but no more than $500.

I know people with fewer bags that are more expensive, but since I’m not easy on them I can’t be that person. My mum’s the same so no heirloom ones either

$2,000 is my limit. Over the past 5 years I’ve bought 5 designer bags and 1 contemporary, totaling about $7,500. For that amount, I know I could have bought a really nice Chanel or even a cheaper Hermès bag. Sometimes I do have that internal struggle of whether it’s better to have a variety of lower priced designer bags (e.g LV, Gucci, YSL) or just one or two really top market designer bags (Chanel, Hermès). But in the end, I do wonder if I would be too stressed out to carry a $7,000 bag. I’m still careful with my $1500 and $2000 bags, and would be sad if something happened to one of them—but not as shattered as I would be if I lost or ruined a $7,000 bag.

I’m at the point I’m very minimalistic in my purchases, so usually only purchase one bag every other year, if that. My collection is so small and I like to keep it that way to fully enjoy my luxury bags and not have them on a shelf, in their dust bag. My limit is $3,000 and I’m not into contemporary brands (have only one bag in this category) also have gotten quite picky, only seek out unique pieces that speak to me instead of trendy, mainstream ones.

The most I've spent on a bag is $1,100 and my most expensive bag retailed for around $3000. My collection consists of Prada, Balenciaga, D&G, Proenza Schouler, Gucci, and lesser known brands like Sara Battaglia and Coccinelle. I am 25 and almost bought a Chanel this year (a huge leap from my usual budget) but had to check myself. I finally have the money for it, with how my career is starting and going, but it was totally against my goal of saving X amount of money by the end of the year, to save, invest, etc. I think I wouldn't have felt proud of myself if I had bought it at this time in my life. I remember dreaming of the Balenciaga City in my profile photo in that exact color when I was around 15... and I was able to purchase it in last year, almost brand new, due to the huge drop in resale value for the City. At the time, I knew the bag wasn't "trendy" anymore, but I knew it was timeless to me and would work well with my wardrobe for a very long time. Also, in regards to the Chanel I almost bought but didn't, I realized over the course of a few months that I didn't really love it but just wanted it because I could finally afford a Chanel. So, when I finally decide to purchase one, I'll make sure it's really the one!

I think, at this moment, I am not willing to go over $1500.
