I just bought my first Expensive expensive bag *Today*. I'd been wanting it for > 2 years. It was 3600 euro (2950 + 649 tax), so less than that after VAT refund... no regrets bc its 5300 USD (+tax). I have no buyers remorse (a common occurance for me) bc how much $$ money saved - with NO doubts as to authenticity. I cannot wait to break it in :)

Love the thread. ~$2160 for a Bottega Veneta bag and ~$2210 for a preloved Kelly (dropped off at the spa last week and was quoted $390 to clean, not included in that $2210. With this cost, this really makes this preloved bag my most expensive). For a wallet for myself, I think I only paid $35 or so for Kenneth Cole wallet from Costco a few years back. Since its still in great condition, I haven't had the need to replace it. But I did spend $75-85 per wallet (on sale), for a few wallets as gifts for people.

My beautiful Saffiano Cuir double handle leather tote. Got it about $500 less than the usual retail for about $2250.00. I love it just as when I first got it back in 2015.

Me neither

I agree

From what I read on tPF lots of members chase their dreams with multiple less expensive copies, similar tos, inspired bys and almosts and are only truly happy by p buying the one and only.

Life is not mistake-free and not is bag collecting. How good and useful a bag is, is not predictable by price alone one way or the other. I believe though, it's best to go for what's the real want/need (if affordable) at least there isn't that ever-hungry feeling.

I completely agree. I used to buy less expensive bags but always got tired of them after a few month. Finally decided to pull the trigger on the one I really wanted and it was worth ever single penny :)
