My sweetie just bought me a Candy by Furla bag made of pvc and it's adorable...true, it was on sale...but I still think it's a cool, innovative way to use plastic piping!

Don't feel stupid. I did the exact same thing when I got all excited over LV and then learned only the handles were leather. I could not stand it to pay so much for a non leather bag. So I sold mine. I mostly have all leather bags and the one PVC one I have it less than 80 bucks and that also has leather from. I feel way better about that. If you love leather and want something that is casual chic might I suggest Linea Pelle line. Lots of amazing leather for an excellent price and so much style. IMO.
PVC is Polyvinyl Chloride as mentioned in other posts. It is also sometimes known as Vinyl in Europe. Bags made from PVC are normally tough and durable and so some Security Bags (http://harcor.com.au/products/bag-supplies/pvc-bags) are manufactured from PVC.
Fashion items made with High denier PVC material are often suitable for playground and beech use. I will not comment on what I think of the price paid for the purse mentioned on the other posts in terms of value but I would not rule out PVC as a suitable material for some fashion items.

So happy that you can purchase a lovely purse or wallet, handbag, and not have to know every time you look at it that an animal was killed just so you'd have something to tote around. The PVC was made for me!:
Rain, may be. In my experience there are the pvc bags that crack like crazy in winter and absolutely can not withstand any frost, handles go off first within a couple of months. Ask me how I know.... Leather does not care about the frost.I prefer leather and all but PVC takes beatings!!
