What if Costco sold your dream bag? Good thing or no?

OK- I hate to go against everyone here but when I saw the spy there ...I was like OMG....I just spent over 2000.00 dollars and it already OUT?????!!!!!!
It made me very SAD!

Costco has been in the news lately reguarding selling Picassos. Seems the paintings/drawings which Costco states are authentic are being contested.

Spys & It bags on Costco? Great. But are they real too? or is someone scamming Costco? Cutting the middleman and reducing the markup is great; but are they authentic?

Costco.com has it, that doesn't mean you will see it at your local Costco.

Costco has lower "overhead" costs, therefore, the "discount". Nothing more. But with coupon and special promotion, you can still get it cheaper than $1899 at Saks.

I'd hate it because then the masses would have it and I'd get sick of looking at it. It's nice to own a bag that is somewhat unique.

I don't think a lot of people can afford a $1899 handbag. You made it sounded like it's $18.99 :D

If "IT" simply means hard to get...then the only "IT" bags are Birkin and Kelly.

I love my Spys. It's a nice handbag and it doesn't scream out "Hey, I am carrying a designer handbag like a Louis Vuitton or Chanel" I guess I am just not a "logo" person.

Hey, if you can get the real thing cheaper, I'm all for that! viva la costco!

I agree :D Although it would be kinda funny to come to the checkout counter with TP, paper towels, napkins, kitty litter, a huge box of laundry detergent and a designer bag

All this talk of the Spys being sold at Costco had me thinking... Would I be put off if they started selling Balenciagas there? My conclusion was... hell no! I'd be all over 'em like white on bread.

I was curious as to what you guys felt... What if Birkins (or whatever your dream bag was) started being sold at discount stores? Would this put you off them? Would it be good/bad for the brand or company?

I had to really think about this one. It wouldn't bother me if Costco sold those bags, but honestly, I'd think of the bags differently. They'd be more easily attained and less exclusive. I hate to admit it, but the hard-to-get/not-easily attained thing is part of it for me. I'd think of them as discount store bags...I mean, come on...Hermes thrives on exclusivity. I'll admit it: that makes me more intrigued by them. Yes, they've got me right where they want me. :shame: :amuse:

Waiting to be crucified.
