What have you learned through your handbag addiction?

That one can never have too many bags!

...Unless you begin to wear your most treasured bags more than others. :(

And that it is SO HARD to decide which bag to take on holidays!

I learned a scary fact...once you get scared of how much you just spent on a bag, and that horror passes, you become imune, and it is easier next time to spend on the bag something you thought unimaginable a year ago. That is scary, because, as with any other obsession, there is no limit, especially in credit card society.......

I should go back to my other loves besides bags, but it is so hard....that bag of my dreams is right around the corner ...scary

^^^Yes, this. Horrifying. The hallmark of addiction: (price) tolerance builds. :wtf:

Function is most important. Lightweight, way of carrying it. Size. Quality.

I wouldn't mind a cheap (really cheap) bag to test out a form factor I'm unsure of. That's a way to avoid costly mistakes. That's what got me into purses in the first place..

I have learned that I may love the thrill of victory in the hunt for that really really hard to find limited edition must search several continents kind of bag... More than the bag itself. Then I haven't the heart to sell it because it was a really really hard to find limited edition must search several continents kind of bag... even through I'm "meh" on it. Sigh.

Ever since finding this forum, I have purchased, returned and sold countless bags! It's insane! I have recently gone through a major rehaul of my collection (yet again) and decided to clean out the bags that I was no longer satisfied with.

Now that my closet is nearly empty but for a few chosen remaining bags, I feel the itch (yet again) to purchase more bags. However, I have decided to take a different approach this time.

In the past, I would read posts here and I can admit, I would get caught up in the frenzy of the latest "it" bag on the forum and would purchase it. Now, I am going to take my time and try to avoid these impulse purchases. I need to create a wish list of sorts and make myself WAIT before buying. Now I know it may be hard for me to do that should the bag be on sale or whatnot, but I am going to try. My latest itch is for the Jenny Yuen bag but I have considered this bag for a while now, I just wasn't sure. So, I am going to think about it for a while. And it helps that the bag is not in stock at the moment ;)

I also know I cannot do arm bags so no matter how seductive the bag looks or how much it appeals to me, I will refrain from purchasing a bag that is not shoulder bag.

What about you? What have you learned?
Just wish I can get over the addiction sooner, lol. More bags you own longer time it takes you to decide which one to carry. What is also true is you become less interested in some old bags as you are always in the mood of getting more new ones. I just realized I spent too much time on searching for the best deals, authenticating, bargaining with the sellers and only end up buying more handbags that I don't need at all.

I know I'm addicted! It unleashed my talent in hunting for designer bags and finding great deals on their price -- be it from thrift stores or online shops. But bottom line is, no matter how "thrifty" I think I am for scoring low-priced treasures (compared to others who are willing to pay full price for an item -- absolutely nothing wrong with that, of course!), I know I am not really saving money. That I am still spending a lot on my "wants" rather than adding to our "egg basket". And having a high credit limit on my credit cards don't help either :nogood:

Oh well, I should be on my way to Ban Island now.. If only that Japanese seller would accept my best offer for her LV Agenda, haha! :graucho: But seriously, after this agenda, I'm LV (and generally, bag) content already! Hmmm, hopefully :cloud9:

Yes, sadly I know what this feels like. It's a very slippery slope!

Yes here, too. Scary, sometimes, how quickly I can decide to spend a large wad of cash.

Also: hard to choose for the day... weekend... travel. I realized that it is not a sense of having nothing to carry (as it often is with clothing - ack - nothing to wear). With my bags, it is having so many bags I love that it's darn near impossible to choose JUST ONE! So many bags to love (already in my closet), so little time (to love them all WELL)! That's a problem I can live with :-)

So true in all accounts!!! I have waaaayyyyy too many handbags that I've finally decided to rotate them everyday and accessorize with whatever I am wearing for the day. I am also in a GREAT DILEMMA which handbag to take on our SINGAPORE- MALAYSIA trip. I am thinking of taking my MJ Baroque XL in blue but another part of me wants to take my LV speedy B30 or my LV totally. I am definitely taking my Longchamp for the water park but I want to take 1 more bag. And I AM TORN! I feel my MJ Baroque XL needs a vacation since my LVs always get to go :(
