Nice work on these my friend! I agree about throwing the bags in the wash if they can't be helped otherwise. I just threw 2 $1 garage sale finds in the wash this week. Thing is, they were suede!!! Both of the bags were stained with water damage and grime and I threw them in a handwashing cycle. One dried to almost mint condition, and the other was so bad off, it could not be saved, but looked cleaner. So yes, good work!

Wow, you did an awesome job on all 3 bags! I really didn't think the houndstooth bag looked dirty either...until I saw your "after" pics...it really brightened up! I think the houndstooth is my fave; it's so different. Great finds!

When there's no other option, it's certainly worth trying! Glad to hear that one of your $1 finds came out of the washer looking great!

Kate...absolutely amazing! I love your posts and photos. You are an inspiration to all of us "Vintage Coach Lover's". Very encouraging!

What did you use for the bath on the green bag? I washed a 80's Coach Skinny Flight Bag in Ivory dish soap, but forgot to check if it was the unscented type and now the bag has a horrible perfume smell to it. I am wondering if I try washing it again, if I can get the smell to come out.

I used Ivory unscented dish soap and warm water. I let it soak awhile in the sudsy water and then I rinsed her and let her soak in clean water. I stuffed her with towels to dry her and when she was dry I was pleased to find that the nasty smells were all gone. Good luck!
