Though I amtempted by Etoupe, Gold or one of the dark navy's but in the end, I think I'll go with black as I don't want to have to baby this bag.

A black Bolide is simply beautiful. I think you'd find the bag in Gold perhaps too casual. Navy is a wonderful option and might allow you to wear it with lighter colors and fabrics.

I don't have them anymore. I got the 31cm over a decade ago. I was into pretty, structured, hand carry bags. But I soon realized that At 5'10" the 31cm felt small in proportion to my frame so I sold it and waited until the right 37cm came along. I had my 37cm for years. But my personal style has become a bit more casual and I've realized that also I prefer a bag I can carry on the shoulder. (I know the Bolide has a strap but I've never like how the shoulder strap looked even though it's a practical option.) So I sold my 37cm about 18 months ago.

That said, the clean lines and simplicity of the Bolide is really something.

Black for me as well. I saw one in person several months ago and decided then that I would have that bag one day.

Yes, the simplicity of the Bolide really is something. I think the bag is so understated, very luxurious.
I think you are right about Gold being too casual and Etoupe is too ligth, where I live it rains a lot. I am 99% sure I want black, just want to go through all my options.

For bags this size, being handcarried is perfect for me as long as I still have the option of carrying it by the strap if I need to so I'm really thinking I'll love this bag.
