what does it mean a black mark inside the bag?

Hi there, I saw a chanel bubble bowling bag for sale 1999 or buy it now, but the inside of the bag has a black mark line on it? what does it mean? A return from a department store or something wrong with the bag and the department put a black mark... please clarify for me. thanks

I think the store puts a black mark through the Chanel name label inside the bag to prevent a customer from returning it and getting the full original price.
It tells them that it was a sale priced item

The only Chanel items I have seen with a black mark are items from outlets. I've purchased Chanel on sale at the boutique or department store and none have a black mark.

I've seen red mark line at the outlets. No marks on sale items at the boutiques.

Ive seen them before on ebay - and I dont like it at all. Guess maybe Im being too picky, but it just annoys me.

I've also heard of black marks being put on bags that were sold to employees at the employee discount price, to prevent them from returned for full price.
