MK bashing is not common here, I've only ever had compliments on my bag choices!

You never have! i am afraid you are misinterpreting my point, only being that MK DOES have a luxury line. Is there something wrong with saying that??? Is that offensive some how?? Was never meant to be?? Also, a tote is a bag the does not zip closed. They generally will be open at the top or have a magnetic snap closure, unlike Satchels, that will have a zipper top closure. The carrying strap has nothing to do with it. Many satchels are also shoulder and crossbody bags. A tote simply has an open top.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with stating that MK has two distinctive focus markets and that the brand is both contemporary on one side of the coin and luxury-focused on the other. I know, I have a Scorpio amongst my canvas pieces. What is wrong IMHO is that you seem to automatically assume that other members don't understand this and become unnecessarily defensive, and sometimes aggressive, when explaining what you're passionate about. I refuse to defend the posts and attitudes of certain members on the other forum's thread and agree that it was disgusting, but I don't feel welcome here on this forum when I'm replied to in such a manner as earlier. Considering that approximately 90% of all human communication is done non-verbally and that on sites such as this it is all down to what we write. It is therefore very easy for miscommunication to occur and for meanings to be taken out of context...especially when you feel very strongly about a subject. Please just be mindful of this as I'm sure you are a wonderful person in life and don't wish or intend to offend others when you talk about your passions...in this case the entire MK brand.

I do understand the characteristics of a tote and simply stated I preferred the ones that can be worn on the shoulder as I like to have my hands free. My Jet Set is the multifunctional-style and is an open top. The only zipper is on the centre divider which is padded for the intention of protecting my laptop.
