Arts & Crafts What do do with fabric swatches?

So I had an idea of using up the old fabric swatches we have from choosing sofas and curtains in the past to make something new and useful. I've also ordered some more in similar colour schemes.

Does anyone else create using swatches?

Some of my ideas are:
  • Patchwork cushion covers
  • Patchwork tote bag
  • Patchwork makeup bag/pencil case
  • iPhone cover
  • Hair bands
  • Hair bows
  • Book/notebook covers

If anyone has any other ideas I'd be very grateful, and I don't mind letting people know which companies offer good free swatches if anybody is interested.

There is a technique where you use patches of fabric, a canvas backing and modpodge to make a floor mat. If you google it, you will find the instructions. I have seen a couple of these and they can be really cool.

Do you drink tea? I was visiting a friend and she served tea. She kept the pot warm with a very nice handmade sort of a hood that was made of all her favorite dresses. She used simple combinatorics technic where certain numbers of shapes meet at one point (she used hexagons I think) with lots of creative use of color. I really want to find the time and make one for myself.
