What did you buy to get a birkin/Kelly

Where are you based?

I’m based in south Florida..........I chose the west palm beach store because my cousin referred me to a sales associate there that he uses when he travels to the states. I could have chosen design district also because I’m in between the two stores.
I have no doubt that you will get what you want soon. I am asking where you were based as quite mystified about quotas and all that. In my experience, the best policy is to spend time investigating items that appeal, rather than purchase items to please others. And if you already have a sales associate, just ask. Looking forward to your reveal shortly!:happydance: ,

I found buying in the men’s department even just small items makes a significant push in getting offered a B/K... tie, shirt, baseball cap, or if you have the funds, a watch maybe. I have a DH who I shop Hermes RTW for but refuses to waste money on their watches unfortunately. Just a suggestion, if you have a guy you can buy their stuff for.

What B and K are you looking for? I think that factors in hugely how quickly you will get your offer. I tend to like the not so popular size and color so I only bought a few scarves and one bag before I got my first offer.

I find the quotas and all a complete mystery. I was told by an SA at one store that I have to spend the equivalent of one Kelly to be able to purchase one. However, my regular SA at another store said ‘there’s no hard and fast rule’. Both SAs are in my own home country. I bought mostly stuff for my bf (cufflinks, rtw, wallets, ties etc) and a few other things like shoes and cardholders for myself. I was told that clutches and bags do not count towards the minimum spend. I was offered a k25 when my spending hit about half the cost of a k25. :wtf: Surprise!
Spend on items that you really love, and the bag will appear somehow. Hermes makes many other beautiful items other than birkins and Kellys. I have just started to slide down the deep dark hole of Hermes fine jewelry... and that love will lead me to a Kelly sellier slowly but surely...

For the H store I visit often, bags and wallet do not count. But I'm sure they do consider them when evaluating the customer purchase history. Fine jewellery (CDC , Kelly gold bracelets), watch, pillows, tv blankets, rtw, shoes all count. I tend to just get small items like fine jewellery and shoes which are things that I love~ Good luck!

Many people have posted that fine jewelry is a good way to get offered a bag. Some have even stated that they planned to buy a bracelet that they didn't love in order to try for a bag. H's fine jewelry is expensive IMO, so only buy it if you love it. I got many bag offers without buying jewelry, but I do buy across the store (and started buying jewelry only recently).

Regarding the original question what I purchased to get B/Ks: nothing. Absolutely nothing. However, when I spoke to the SAs they would know that I knew H products well, from mentioning all the colors and leathers that I love.

I have a K32, B40 and B35 - all purchased from H boutiques around the world.

I got on the waitlist for the K32 (black box GHW, retourne) without the SA knowing that I purchased a belt and a perfume from someone else before at that store (and they don't ask for your ID to keep track).

For the B40 (my very first B) I was a walk-in tourist at a store on another continent. Never went there before this one trip, let alone buy anything. I went 3 times within 2 weeks and got to speak to really nice SAs who referred me to someone in the leather department. On the day before my departure I finally met the SA and got very lucky.

For the B35 (my dream colour and combo) the hotel concierge arranged an appointment at FSH (was in 2017). Was also lucky to have a great SA who showed me the B35 in Bleu Paon (a colour I wanted for more than 5 years) and I was able to purchase it without anything else. I did purchase 3 leather bracelets in France in the years before. But again, no ID as I'm not eligible for tax refunds anyway. And the appointment was not even in my name (in my friend's name, who was not an H client before). So H/the SA couldn't have known about my small purchase history in France.

I did and still buy various H items I really want. But always at whichever place happens to have it (including h.com), never to build a history. So to the question what else I enjoy from H: SLGs like the Ulysse GM, MM, PM, Calvi, Vision Agenda (basically had to collect colors I love), scarves, perfume, jewelry, leather bracelets, other bags (Evie, Medor clutch).

Birkin bait=RTW, Homegoods, Shoes, and Fine Jewelry
No clic clac, GP, CDC or shawl type items...

I have different info specifically regarding scarves (perhaps not the same as shawls?). But I agree with the rest. :flowers:

I have never needed to purchase anything to be offered, but I also was a frequent customer for many years before I even considered a bag (and that was prior to quotas, anyway). My weakness has always been scarves so it hasn’t been an issue, and over the years as the designs have become more attractive and wearable for me, I’ve added some RTW and shoes and will continue to do so occasionally even though it seems I can finally see the end of my B/K purchases within the next year or so. Really, just buy what you love and will use. There are so many beautiful and useful pieces across departments.

Not quite a traditional B per se, but I was offered a runway HAC 40 without any prior purchase history during a random store visit last summer. I ended up purchasing the bag (I'm a guy so the size works well for me).

I didn’t buy anything extra either. I got Bs, Ks from different stores in different cities during my travels (but none from my home store in Toronto because they have such low inventory of Bs/Ks and most go to VIPs). However, I spent time chatting with the SA and show an appreciation of the brand. I sometimes tried on other items of interest and might purchase an item or two but only if that was what I already needed.
