What classic but edgy bag can I buy for season after season?

Hello ladies.

One rather broke but enthusiastic newbie here. I want to buy one bag which I am going to be able to use for years and years - something with classic appeal but also a bit edgy to suit my style. It will probably be something in black. Help!!! I have up to £600. I was going the Mulberry way, but then I saw someone with a Miu Miu bag....:s

I'd def recommend a Coffer. Ask miu2, she adores them w/ a passion! The black leather is TDF, the matte gold h/w has got that edgy look and it's still a classic. That's my .02! Prada also has some great black bags..how about a black gauffre??
