For vacation travel, I carry my LV monogram pochette accessories inside my Prada nylon messenger bag which I stuff inside an Old Navy tote. This way, I can shove the Old Navy tote under the airplane/train seat and not worry about it getting the dirty. I carry my cc/money/passport inside the pochette and I just keep that inside the messenger bag. This offers an extra layer of protection from pick-pocket and at night, I can just take out the pochette to use for dinner, etc. The prada messenger bag is great b/c it holds quite a bit and it's fairly resistant to water and dirt.

I am all about traveling light and efficient and I know that my system sounds complicated but it really works well for every kind of travel! :p

fodpuck>> that is such a great idea!!!! I'm definitely going to use your idea! I like the fact that your "system" offers extra security, and also the different styles of bags (fancy like lv and casual like old navy) will be perfect for different events of the day. Thanks!

I carried my Coach Hampton Weekend Tote the last time I went abroad. It was perfect, I could toss our maps, our tour books, a small umbrella, a water bottle, camera, wallet, light jacket, my ipod, my cell phone & a make up bag in it with plenty of room to spare. Plus all the interior pockets made it easier to store things & then find them later.

Even my Mom made a comment about what a good traveling bag it is.

I bring other bags for going out to dinner and such, but for a day of being a tourist and sighseeing, this bag is perfect.

LeSportsac!! They are LIGHT, can be handwashed if it gets dirty, you can pick your color and style online, and most come with small carrying totes (zippered pouches) that you can actually fold the bag into (or, like I do, use the pouches for cash, tickets, etc.).
Plus, if you want to take your designer bag with you on the plane but are worried about people stealing it, you can put the designer bag into the large LeSportsac as a cover!

For travel I carry whichever purse I happen to be in love with in the moment. I don't overanalyze what purse to carry, just whatever matches my outfit. :D

For weekend trips to New York, I bring my Marc Jacobs overnight leather duffle (with purses inside).

For overseas travel I bring along whichever purses match the outfits I planned, a couple day bags, a couple evening bags. I bring a carryon, either a roller or my Helmut Lang travel bag. I also carry a purse. I think I've carried a different purse on every international flight I've made, ranging from a Dior messenger bag to a Prada bowler.

For my trip to my sister's graduation I am going to carry a crocodile Bottega.

I love travel bags; I tend to give them as presents.

Hmm... when I travel, I bring my large Fendi Piccola handbag or my Juicy Daydreamer. But why not carry a bag you love? Balenciagas are pretty low key to carry aound, no huge logos. As long as it does the job, and it depends where you go. And how tightly you grip your bag :)

Do you buy these direct from lesportsac or is there another good website to purchase from? Thank you! :D

I really love using my Longchamp or Herve Chapelier totes. I think they are really great - no worries about them getting dirty, and Longchamp travels especially well. Both brands make various sized bags in many different color combinations.

bagandshoefetish...I love the bag! Who makes it? It looks big enough for water bottle and magazines or umbrella and sweater! Is this bag still available?
Hi there. My husband bought it for me 10 years ago so I don't know if it still is available. The label inside reads, "Gevive by Boyt" and the gold dangling tag says "Gevive". Its my little Mary Poppins bag!

I usually carry one of my MC Speedies because they're so large. lol. I usually have my white speedy as a carry on/purse, my black Speedy for a "purse" and usually another carry on. I take tooo much stuff on the plane. :oh:
I look a little silly walking around the airport with 2 speedies, but that's ok! lol.:shame:

What bag I carry depends on where I am going and with whom. If I'm travelling alone on a business trip, then I will carry one of my designer bags. When I go on vacation, I usually leave my expensive bags at home and carry a backpack because I'm carrying stuff for myself and my son. Inside the backpack, I pack a Coach pouchette bag that is just the right size for passports and money. When we get to our destination, I use the backpack as a diaper bag and carry the Coach either on my shoulder or in my hand as a clutch.

I'm going to Rome next month and I REALLY want to carry something more fashionable than my Coach. I think I'm going to take my Balenciaga Work bag instead...but I'm not sure because I also have to carry my son's dvd player and I don't want to put that heavy thing in my b-bag!! :shame:

It all depends on the sort of trip I'm going on. For airplane travel, one needs something strong that the airport personnel can't destroy. So, I use Tumi for that. Watching from my seat the luggage carriers throw bags onto the conveyor belt, I'd never want to use anything even remotely delicate.

For car travel, one can use something a little more delicate, so I have a Borbonese suitcase or a Helmut Lang canvas overnight bag.

havent gone anywhere yet (plane-wise) so I am still looking at which bag to carry but when I have travelled in the past, I use my Eddie Bauer messenger bag.. its just really roomy n has tons of space for my books, articles, and even my chips.. lol
