Logo bags ought to be given a rest. It's been at least 7-8 years since logo bags were at the peak of their trendiness, a long time since anyone said "Wow! Gee! It's a logo bag! I wonder whose monogram that is?" Yet they are still in the stores. Sold by both low-cost bag makers and high-end alike. Understand I have several monogram bags. I love them, I still carry them. I will probably carry them to my grave. I may even buy more in the future. But enough already. The days of seeing them on every other arm should be over by now. Let's move on.

I'll avoid wishing others' bags away - to each her / his own. It's a beautiful world when there's a bag (or ten, or fifty...) for everyone, and when there's a place llike Purseforum where we can celebrate both our unity and individuality.

Re: Pandora looking unbalanced: Absolutely - it LOOKS weird. I will forever be grateful to Givenchy for quietly knowing how amazing it could be and giving it the time to slowly win us over / build a following of devoted Panda fans. Pandora is like the quiet dorky girl who turns out to be brilliant, hilarious, kind, generous, and graceful: who can go anywhere and do anything.

Pandora is a bag that must be seen and worn IRL to be appreciated. It DOES look weird in photos. In person, it is richly crafted with luxurious materials... has five options for carrying, and can both swallow a lot of stuff or drape beautifully against your body. It can be at once edgy and elegant; functional and fanciful. Discovering this - upon trying one on for the first time - is like joining a secret society, and wearing one thereafter is a singular experience that refreshes that secret and brings great joy.

The Alexander Wang Rocco/Rockie. I feel I can say this because I own a couple, I bought mine years ago when they first came out, they were edgy and different and the leather was beautiful and the studs were classic. I still love mine but I wish they would stop making that bag in all the different crazy colors with crazy hardware and PVC, and nylon, etc. It's just cheapened the whole classic look of the bag and made it so much less desirable to me.
And the pebbled leather looks like someone with a skin disease. :yucky:

So many good ones already listed - Michael Kors bags (as in, almost all of their ideas stolen from other designers), Céline Phantom (the regular Luggage has enough wingspan, no need to go totally overboard), and fur charms. Especially those Bag Bugs that look like they have rabies. A complete waste of nice fur that has been stolen off an animal has lived a life full of pain and died a horrible death so that humans can make something tacky to hang on their bag.

I agree about the Pandora. I had one when it first came out. This is a shoulder bag, looks better on the shoulder and you have to see it and try it in person to appreciate it.

+1

it's really the only brand i ever see on everyone from walmart to my corporate job. he completely cheapened his brand by making it so accessible

Politely disagree. A long time ago I read a beautiful quote that went something like this: "True art must be made accessible to all. Only then does it truly live". Making something accessible to the general population is awesome, in my humble opinion.

My gripe with MK bags is not that they are everywhere - it is the fact that many of them seem blatant knock offs. Make the bag accessible to everyone by all means; just don't make something a total knock off. Inspired by = cool. Blatant copy = not cool.

Just my 2 cents

It's ironic that the VERY reason many can't stand MK is the reason many others love him!

So his bag copy/replicate other styles.....because of this reason alone many can afford to have the look they want without having to spend the money they don't.
This, to my mind, is a great thing.

I truly think the reason many don't like his copycat designs is because they've paid the big bucks to own those designer styles and don't care to see every other person walking around with one of them on their arm. And while I do understand that feeling, I'm as happy for the person who can afford the look they want as I am for the person who can afford the higher priced designer bag.

After all, they know that they have the 'original' and that alone should make them happy:yahoo:
