I used to shop there a lot. The fit of their clothing fits me really well and they look good. Its really hard for me to find pants that fit and theirs fit me liek a glove thanks to extra room in the thigh/hip area. So I do give them credit for that. But, I have stoped shopping there about 2-3 years ago. Their music is way too loud that shopping there isn't comfortable anymore. I can hear it blasting before I even see the entrance and the perfume is too strong. One thing that really turned me off is they were sued for discrimination at the Costa Mesa store a few years ago (something about laying off an asian girl saying they didn't need any more employees then hiring someone else shortly afterwards -- i dont know the details). But yes, I do believe they were guilty of that and yes, I do believe they hire people depending on how good looking they are. Lastly, I think im too old to be wearing their clothes (this is my first im "too old" realization, it made me sad)

used to love it when i was in 8th grade. and i bought full price most of the time. then i realized why the hell am i paying so much to look like everyone else..

this is totally embarassing for me to admit but i am so freaking in love with the smell in abercrombie stores, sometimes i go in and walk a round just to have a sniff! haha call me a freak i know but it smells sooooooo good!

there was once though i was just browsing, my entire outfit was totally unabercrombie, very hollywood style actually and one of the SA came up to me and she was like "how are u doing today? you look super pretty, we all think u have the abercrombie look. care to join us working at abercrombie?" needless to say i was shocked and of course, rejected her request.

I like like their knits. They have this range of longer sweaters that seat below the waist / on the hips which is perfect for the office. Their other stuff is questionable.

I do agree with BagsLuvMeToo about the smell. I LOVE it so much! I think Abercrombie is one of those stores where you have to have small boobs to fit into anything well which is why I love some of thier stuff there. :sweatdrop: Curvy girls would have a terrible time trying on clothes there because nothing would fit well...The only things I buy from them are their jeans and plainish hoodies. (SO SOFT and they last ages! I have one from 6 years ago that I love to snuggle up with.) Their jeans are great if you can get them on sale because they are cheap and good quality. Everything else is way overpriced. I would never pay $40 for a overdyed shirt that says "Abercrombie" on it.

I refuse to go in A&F now because the quality of their clothes is terrible. Every shirt I've ever owned from there has gotten holes from one washing. One shirt had these perfectly cut holes, almost like button holes, on one of the sleeves, and I didn't know it until someone pointed it out to me at school. Even a few pairs of jeans from there have fallen apart after only a few wearings. Ridiculous.

I loved Abercrombie when I was in high school but I think you kind of outgrow that. Although I love their sweatshirts, but I always buy men's because their women's sizes are so small.

ROFLMAO!!! that place is dark. I need a flashlight to shop there and Hollister. haha

however, i use to shop there a lot back when I was living in Beantown [and in high school], and thats because they have the WARMEST and best sweaters around town. even the winter coats are comfy (when they are not too trendy)

Here in Md, they have Asian and Black associates. I guess it really applies to who applys for the job.

I remeber asking an associate why the place smells like mens cologne all the time, and she told me that they like to spray it around the store. which doesnt make sense to me, cause even the womens clothes smell like cologne. lmao

I have a few Abercrmbie tees, but since I'm a college student they're ok for me, they're soft and comfy. I really dislike the store though, the music is distracting! It's not as bad and freaking loud as Hollister though....

Nope I would never buy from a company who's ethics are low. I did hear that about a and e and I'm inclined to fully believe it. I do sometimes buy from hollister though because I actually like their perfume but only some clothes that are cheaper. Their clothes are so tiny though. I'm a size 5 and usually wear smalls and mediums and let me tell you they make you feel fat in that store when your a large size and weigh only 120 lbs at 5'5.

OMG I just clicked the link to see the guy. ANyone think he looks like the joker or something? Totally looks like too much plastic surgery. Looks crazy mutated and a closet homophobic gay.

Interesting article Bijou.

I can say from experience, A&E WILL NOT hire you if you don't have a certain look. A recruiter contacted me about a position there and made sure to tell me to wear the A&E look as he sent someone else to an interview there and they were rejected dispite a steller resume and experience. The person wore a suit. To me, standard interview atire. (The interview was for the corporate office not the store).

One of my fave pairs of jeans is from Hollister. I used to wear A&E when I was in college (which is there target demographic) but afterward, I just kind of moved on from them.

Ruehl has "ok" clothes but personally I think they are a bit overpriced for the style.
