I.am.dying.

I'm going to nassau this weekend for a funeral. might have to do some shopping :graucho:
sorry to hear about the funeral, but yes....you may need to see these in person. they're very intriguing- opaque but slightly transluscent, very feminine in colouring! theyre kind of like a pink cabochon opal... really hard to explain but hopefully you can see for yourself :D

did you see these? http://www.mikimotoamerica.com/pearl-type/conch.html

$78,000 for the ring & $996,000 for the necklace :faint:

"looking" might be the only thing I do...

they're very rare! but mikimoto also has ridiculous prices too!

and to be fair this is a matched set. a matched set of anything is astronomical. even for example a matched set of tsavorite garnets or amethysts (yes less than conch pearls or diamonds) is expensive because they have to source enough material to create the set. thats why a string of south sea pearls that are all 12mm is more than a graduated set. its also why VCA has trouble with turquoise and lapis and malachite. (its why the LE were alternating and not full lapis or malachite like they used to be)

they are amazing! expensive but amazing
^they ARE amazing!

look at pearl paradise and some other pearl dealers--they are out there for fair prices. Mikimoto is not the place to go.:smile1:
^I saw pearl paradise :graucho: waiting to see what I can find in nassau.

^you're right. I'd rather have a ring anyway...1 pearl not matched.

very true!:smile1:

Which shamballa bracelets are almost $2000? Everytime I do a search, I find very inexpensive ones. I must be looking at copies or inspired pieces. Please let me know where I can see the real ones!
