What are you hoping to get for Valentines Day

I won't get anything....I already got something! My jeweler in Cleveland let me know of an other client that was looking to get rid of some watches. He has brought them in to get cleaned up and stuff. One was an early '80s ladies Rolex Cellini with a diamond bezel. It's yellow gold, which I don't normally wear, and the look is slightly dated, but it's a beautiful watch so I'll mix metals for this! I got an amazing deal on it, the seller bought it at an estate sale and I don't think he knew what he had! It didn't come with any papers or anything, but my jeweler looked it over and said it was a chance of a lifetime! I bought it for the lowly price of $1000!!! So anyway, with my engagement ring reset and this, my DF says I'm done! :p

That watch is an AMAZING deal and really beautiful! I can't wait to see it worn with your new e-ring setting!!

I'm excited too!! Thank you!! Do you think mixing metals is okay??

Like I said I'm normally not a yellow gold type of girl and I generally don't go for watches this "delicate"! I think I've been watching too much Mad Men!!!:p

I mix metals ALL the time!! But it depends on the pieces too. For your watch + ring, since both are antique/vintage looking AND the face of the watch is white with diamonds, I think it'd pair nicely with your setting. The face of the watch is also squarish which kind of mirrors your cushion/square shaped haloes. I love what I'm imaginging! LOL

HAHA - You make me laugh! Yeah, I would obviously wear them together, I just hope they don't clash!!

I think you're going to get a proposal for V-day!!

We don't really honor that "holiday".

We don't do Valentine's Day either. If anything, I will use it as an excuse to get cupcakes or something.

Nothing actually. I can't even remember if we really observe it. I know a few years ago he got me the Gucci heart toggle necklace but outside of that I'm really struggling to remember. :confused1:

Me 4. I can't remember if we ever celebrated Valentine's. Both of us don't appreciate the commercialism of it. Or maybe we're just not romantics at heart.

I honestly am not sure if I'm getting a present:laugh:. I'm not expecting anything as my BF isn't super gifty and my birthday is right before VDay (Feb 3 -- so the poor man has to get me presents for xmas, then my bday a month later, then vday!).

I think I'd have a stroke if my husband presented me with jewelry on V-Day. That kind of thing just doesn't happen in my world. (never has!) DH pats himself on the back if he remembers to bring me a card. I envy all of you who have blingy goodies coming your way!

kohl_mascara and nyc_cady, those are some gorgeous pieces of jewelry!!

i, too, would be surprised if my boyfriend got me jewelry for valentine's day. to be honest, i've never received jewelry from a boy, just from my parents for graduation

last valentine's day, i did the big surprise by going to visit him in japan while he was on a seven month long study abroad. this year has been financially tougher for us... i'd be happy with a box of chocolates :D
