Weight of your birkin/kelly

I ask regarding the birkin and kelly style b/c these are handheld. I was also reading a post where someone mentioned the JPG birkin is just too heavy.

In general, are birkins and kellys heavier than other lux designer bags? i was holding my 35 kelly and find it heavier than my other bags, and wonder if after an hour of carrying it, will my arm start to hurt.

Mine is a 32 Kelly and even though I don't stuff it with too many things, it does wear on my arm after awhile. I actually put the strap on it last week and couldn't believe how natural it felt to carry it on my arm!
