it's really, really scary what people rationalize is appropriate for the sake of a bag. it makes me so sad that the laws of politeness and respect are thrown out the window. the times i have been in the Hermes store I am afraid to speak or touch anything, it feels so sacred! I can't even fathom creating a scene like some of you ladies have described witnessing... :wtf:

I have had people try to pick up my bags off the counter many times. It is not necessarily rude -- just the misimpression that if what looks like merchandise is on the counter. I don't usually mind if the person wants to look at it. I know what it's like to want to see a bag IRL.

I don't mind also, if I'm carring Togo or Clemence, but I do mind a lot, if I am with my Barenia, or Box or Swift...;)

I have seen quite a few rude customers but the funniest was when we were in Paris at FSH, a very pretty girl (who was already carrying a Birkin) was taking delivery of another new Birkin and the SA pulled her to the back of the store near the men's clothes to open the box and show her. Clearly this girl wanted to create a big fuss because she ignored the SA's attempts to have her look at the bag in a more discrete mirror in the back of the store - instead she paraded through the entire bag area of FSH with BOTH Birkins on her arms, back and forth, peering into each mirror and striking modeling poses! Anybody who has been in FSH knows how crowded the bag section is and this girl doing that caused absolute mayhem with people asking if the Birkins were for sale, etc. She finally went back and put the bag down and paid for it and then strutted out! Sometimes I think some shoppers at Hermes can behave like little roosters...puffing about to cause a little scene, lol. The poor SAs!

wow! really? that is so immature but i like your description of rooster lol:lolots:

There is a thread for lovely SAs and Rude SAs, but how about rude clients? anyways, its unbelievable how rude some clients can be to SAs and even other clients. I am not one of them but the other day while I was at an H store, another customer tried to hijack my SA! and even the bag i was looking at?! how rude. she even tried to take my bag out of the box to check it out after my SA placed it inside when I told him I will be taking it! thank goodness my SA had the guts to tell her that its mine and shuffled her away.:p

do you have some horror stories about the subject? please share!:graucho:

Many of you know that I think there are more rude and very rude clients than there ever are SA or hostesses! They interrupt private conversations, demand to be waited on immediately, grab either the bag you wore into the store or whatever sample bag you and your SA are discussing off the table, they scream yes scream at the hostess at FSH they push other people, they point and say "why does she/he have glass of juice or whatever and I do not?", they stand too too close to where you and your SA are talking about size, leather choices, timing, hardware, prices, annual sales and rude tourists/clients. I walk with a cane and on Monday last week one woman pushed ahead of me and tripped over my cane almost knocking me to the ground and then she turned on me and started to scream at me for hitting her, luckily the security guard came to my bewildered rescue!

So I do not know if there is a separate thread but I can tell you there is some anti social ghastly inhumane behavior in the boutiques and this is not just because it is so close to Christmas.

i agree!
and some people don't even like exotic skins (eg me)
if i was offered normal leather or exotic leather i would choose normal.

Ah, Crackberry. We are of the same mind. I do have a python bag (not H) but alligator and crocs kind of creep me out. Sorry, guys. Just can't look or touch. But other people, great. Who am I to judge? Oh and pony hair (unborn calf) I actually gave a bag away because it just grossed me out to know how the leather for that bag was really harvested. Like veal.

Once I was in the boutique and there were two other women in the store. There were two orange Birkins on two different counters. Like some of the other rude intruders, I didn't know that they belonged to other people, so I just looked at one of the bags. How would I have known that people would just leave their Birkins lying about on counters. Bad habit, ladies. Watch your bags.

When I walk into the boutique in the winter, my SA takes my bag and coat and puts them away in the back room. I'm usually in the market for silks. It is very rare that I shop for a bag. That is usually an impulse when I mention something to my SA.

OMG! the same exact thing happened to me. I asked my SA to show me a specific bag, and when he brought it three other women admired it so much. One told her SA that she'll take it, but my SA told her that I was looking at it. I asked my SA for other colors, so he went back in brought two boxes, and before I knew it these women opens tha boxes tried to take the bags. My SA told them again these bag are for me. They stepped back kept standing behind me and watching me. I ended up taking the first bag, ironically, they didn't buy anything from the store

OMG :wtf: can't believe that happened to you! i have never witnessed such horrific behavior other than the "I want that birkin!!" comments from other customers when I have been looking at a bag. But nothing to this extent!

To all who are looking for Cross-body bags like Evelyne, don't want 'H' even if hidden, there's the Christine GM!!:tender:

So sorry to veer off topic, but I couldn't find any info on the Christine on this forum...is it still available in stores? Or can anyone point me in the right direction? Sounds exactly what I'm looking for! TIA!

something kind of amusing and offensive happened this week when i went to the H boutique go get my agenda and the bracelets. if you saw my reveal thread you can see misto was with me and sitting on one of the display cases with my Birkin.

At one point Misto perched her feet up on the edge of the Birkin to look inside for yumyums (since I always have a little bag of treats with me to keep her glucose levels up). A woman who was kind of lurking around me ran up, grabbed my bag and screamed at me, "How dare you let your dog near this Birkin! I am going to buy it!" and other choice words I won't repeat. Another SA approached (mine was in the back getting the agenda), grabbed my Birkin back and said, "how she chooses to use her own Birkin she purchased is her business, not yours". And the lady went on a rampage demanding to be brought out one just like it... :wtf:
