that is horrible!!! im glad u stood your ground. big families can be intimidating but i cant imagine how long you waited for you pre order. and for having someone try it out,,, grrrrrrr. a simple apology to u would have been ok, she didnt hve to go off and have a tantrum.

yes, well some people are just rude...today i encountered the worst saleslady ever in H...

I don't get it about high mighty character for some women who presumed they are toting Croc Birkins, or happen to be "so-called" experts in their Hermes knowledge, have to act like as if they own the store, sneering at others w/cheaper Hermes bags including non-exotic Bs and give that evil eye, "oh, you're clueless".

I observed this many times albeit in different situations both local and overseas. 1st, there are many ladies out there who don't feel a need to 'show-off' their knowledge and choose to remain anonymous with the size of their collection.

2ndly, toting a Croc Birkin not = to being snobby. I detest such individual. Someone who tote a Picotin, may own a Croc B w/DHW and plenty more @ home.

Thanks to H gods, my local Hermes marketing director don't tote Birkins during events. At least, she has her own style which is a message to everyone. During today's event, it's nice to see a Christine GM for the first time. When I see that, immediately, I can tell, this is someone who has the knowledge, yet she remain anonymous in her presence. Seeing that, badly make me lust. To all who are looking for Cross-body bags like Evelyne, don't want 'H' even if hidden, there's the Christine GM!!:tender:

I like it also when I see someone with a bag that is not the norm. Its cool and I feel ever cooler if I know which one it is!!:D

It was really cool. Furthermore, she was elegant and polite.

thx for saying this iffah. totali agree. a lady at FSh with a glass of champagne and on her lap was a croc birkin. pretty sure she was a VIP or regular coz of the drink. I think she was waiting for her SA. she was standing around like she owns the store.not moving even if if shw as in people s way. lol. owning a croc birkin does not give you an excuse to be rude. similar thing happened to me at a chanel store. lady with a croc hogging space.

It explains individual's basic courtesy.

Mistikat, I guess it's to relay the negative observations/experiences we've had and to share. There are even more horror stories if only the Hermes SAs could share. Hopefully, we don't behave in similar manner.:smile1: Personally, I'm fine with individuals trying out w/o realizing the birkin belongs to an owner. It's a form of compliment. I'm more than happy to share my own little knowledge.

I guess I have a hard time with anyone being rude while shopping. SA or clients. I have had many times where some one has grabbed my bags and not uttered an apology. I found it rude and an invasion of my personal space. I would never think to mistreat something that is not mine. Luckily I have not encountered the VIP, I really hope I never do, it would ruin my shopping experience. IFFAH I can only imagine what that was like and I am truly sorry that you had to deal with this. I would never understand this, if your are a VIP why shop in person? Just send someone to collect your things or have them sent over to you?:shrugs:

i agree!
and some people don't even like exotic skins (eg me)
if i was offered normal leather or exotic leather i would choose normal.

I don't think owning a croc means you are an expert or a VIP. My SA knows how much I love Hermes and I get a much better treatment than clients with lots of crocs. I have seen ladies with croc birkins that could not even identify the color of thir bags...

True.

My SA showed me a graphite croc Birkin with diamond hardware as she knew I would appreciate it, even if it's something I would never buy. When I mentioned others who I thought would purchase it, she said something along the lines of the women who are able to buy aren't necessarily able to appreciate....

Those encounters are not actual VIPs. I observe them for far and stay within my circle of area. The VIPs I personally know are nice in nature. Poised and elegant.:smile1:

This is true. Owning a croc B and being offered a Birkin w/DHW doesn't equate to being a VIP. The encounters I've faced are definitely not VIPs. Or maybe, they perceive themselves as 'VIPs' and "expert in their knowledge". I'm baffled at times. There isn't a need to behave in that manner.;) At the end of the day, every Hermes in different countries have their own clientele database. They're able to distinguish between which is which.

Last year my SA called me because they had an all silver CDC in stock and I went to pick it up the same afternoon. After I looked at it I placed it on the counter and went to pick out some ties for my father. Meanwhile some Lady grabbed my CDC and asked the SA about the price. The SA told her that this CDC was on hold for me and that I came to pick it up. The lady then threw a total fit, yelling at the SA about bad customer service, that it was her right to purchase this CDC, and went on commenting on my "cheap gothic attire and no name bag" ( I wore a Yohji Yamamoto coat and carried a black Cabat ). The SA had to call security who then escorted the lady in question out of the store.

All of us were quite baffled after this.

The rudest people in my opinion are those who carry what they think to be a fabulous fake that nobody would suspect, and act as if they own the store and a whole collection of B and are regulars in H stores worldwide !
I always like it a lot when they are kindly served the "you should ask your local store " magic way of putting "please get out of here".....

Whilst waiting on a busy afternoon I observed one lady trying to literally wrestle an H belt kit out of a male customers hands in front of the SA serving him, I have had bags picked up from the counter as I'm talking (and not just in H and not just new bags but my own) but never while it's actually in my hands. This lady had to be told again and again that it was the gentleman's prerogative to buy the belt until security had to be called

I have had people try to pick up my bags off the counter many times. It is not necessarily rude -- just the misimpression that if what looks like merchandise is on the counter. I don't usually mind if the person wants to look at it. I know what it's like to want to see a bag IRL.

LOL perlerare

Presently, am paying more attention to those carrying fakes into H. To me that is rude and assuming everyone else is the least bit aware. I find these people rather audacious thinking they 'pulled one over us' .. haha .. they are easier to spot than Waldo!

I've had people who tried to pick up my bags many times when I place them on the counter or on the desks; but for the most part when they realized it was mine, they were most apologetic. Then there is always that one percent that really ruins the perfect score. Now I place them near my feet on the floor :p
