Help guys! Problem with a non CL pair :( I've always used Bick 4 on my python flats and they worked perfectly fine so I thought they would be OK for my YSL Tribtoos but after using it on one shoe it made it darker! I thought it was because it wasn't dry yet so I left them alone for the entire night and the shoe is still darker :( I guess I should do the other shoe so they'll match but is there anything I can do to lighten the color back to it's original color?

What material are your YSL Tribtoos? If it's suede, most likely you cannot reverse it.

I "tested" Bick 4 on a pair of white python & black suede Rock & Republic heels. The python looked great but I noticed that some of the black dye lifted off the suede.

IMO....I would use use a different cleaner/conditioner for suede.

This was super helpful- Thank you! I'm going to try this out as son as it arrives on my CL suede New Delics!

Does anyone have tips for application? I understand arms length.... for how long? Should I take extra care avoid the red sole, or inside of the shoes?

Can I use meltonian on my python summerissimas? I'm so nervous this is my first pair with any exotic on it! Also I noticed a lot of the display ones in the stores start to turn yellow after awhile does anyone know how to prevent that?

Yes. I used meltonian and bick 4 on my python summerissimas with no adverse effects.

I use meltonian on all my shoes (except patent) with no adverse effects. I spray the insole and red lacquered sole as I am too lazy to cover them up. I have never had any issues from doing this.

Hi, can someone kind enough to explain to me about Bick 4 Exotic Skin Care Leather Cleaner & Conditioner. Is it one bottle? I was only able to find bick 4 leather cleaner and conditioner together in one bottle on eBay. Is it better to buy two separate bottle.

I am soo confused  I have just gotten my first python and want to protect and condition them. I have read Nat's recommendation of Meltonian and went to buy it except there is a large range of Meltonian products. Does anyone know which one I buy from Amazon?

Please let me know if I order the correct bottle to clean and condition my exotic.

This is what my bottle of Bick 4 looks like. I have used it on my python and leather shoes.

I use the Meltonian Water & Stain Leather Suede Nubuck Protector Repellent on my phython, leather, and suede shoes.

Hi girls! I have been lurking for how to moisturize/waterproofing my exotics on tpf for quite a few days now.. I don't know if this thread is okay for me to share this but I will go on anyway..

I just got my first CL which is a nude watersnake AD. And I realised that some of the scales are curled. Not only that, I somehow dropped one of the heels and it bruised the skin and now it shows a whitish skin beneath the scale.. I was devastated! It was all flakey and it feels like it was going to peel off anytime soon.. I was kind of disapointed to know watersnake skin is super fragile!

Anyway my first purpose was to find a way to condition the skin so the scale will return to normal condition. I ordered Bick 4 as a lot has recommended in tpf, but I live in asia and shipping goes sloow.. I was too keen on wearing my AD so I go ahead and ordered a Meltonian All Purpose Cleaner & Condition and Apple Garde Waterproofing Spray as they also get a lot of positive comment. So I did receive my Meltonian earlier than my Bick 4 so I used them on my AD.

I was being careful so I did what you girls said, test it on a hidden part first, gladly nothing changed.. So I go ahead and used a white cotton cloth to apply.. But I feel that it is too thin and it doesn't do the job well. So I go on and apply it with my finger using single stroke motion along the scale direction. I did a bit of a massage into the skin with my finger until the skin absorbed the conditioner.. After 3 times applying it with 10-20 minutes break after each application, my snake skin looks so much brighter and glossy! All the lifted scales are gone and it looks super brand new! Also the bruised part, it settled in. Didn't flake anymore and didn't budge when I touch them.. Really really glad!

Now onto the question part.. I don't really plan to wear my CL outdoor and I don't know what is the probability on my CL getting wet, but one thing for sure I don't want it to get ruined! So I have a question, should I spray my AD with Apple Garde and how many times should I repeat? How long do I take a break after spraying each ply and can I "over-spray" it if I spray them too much? Should I spray the red sole? Thank you in advance!

Hi oorin and welcome. I used Meltonian Water & Stain Protector for my watersnake and python CLs. I sprayed the entire shoes at arms length, excluding the red soles. You will notice the skin darken so you'll know your spraying the area, just do not focus on one spot to avoid overspraying. I sprayed 2 coats but waited overnight to spray second coat. Once coat dries, the color comes back to the original color.

There are photos towards the beginning of this thread for you to see plus great information as well.

Thank you so much MadameElle! Now I am scared to spray my exotics with apple garde.. I will try eBay for the meltonian spray since amazon doesn't ship spray cans to overseas.. Do you think eBay would? :( it's really hard to get leather care product here in indonesia.. Sigh.. On the similar topics is it safe to spray meltonian on Tod's suede loafers? Will it mattify the fluff or darken the colour? It would be great if anyone can answer that too hehe..

I use only Meltonian Water & Stain Protector for my exotics.

I have used either Apple Garde Waterproofing Spray or Meltonian Water & Stain Protector on suede and kid. I use a super soft bristled facial or baby's hair brush to brush the suede after spraying to restore it's nap.

Whoops totally did not catch up with this thread.. So I bought a suede brush but the brush is super tough and hard.. It did gives my suede a nice up but should I use it with my after sprayed suede? Or should I use them really soft brush instead?

Also how many times should I spray my exotics / suede?

Thanks !
