Washing Machine & LV...

I would think that there could be a possibility of having mold grow between the lining and bag. It does not take much moisture for mold to grow even if you think the bag is dry the rough side of leather can hold moisture . Look at all the mold problems people have talked about from Asia with bags. It might be wrth turning the bag inside out to dry in the sun even if you feel it is dry now. Good luck. Hubby's LV wallets have been through the washing machine for years by him doing his laundry and forgetting to take his wallet out of his panths. They survived.

I'm about to post pics after I put dinner on. I just got back frm the Houston Galleria LV dropping off my wallet for reglazing and l met two of the nicest SA's. We chatted and apparently according to one he knows lots of people who machine wash their LV's regularly, go figure. He also told me that they've actually put baby oil on straps, piping, and luggage tags to catch the patina of fresh vachetta with older Vachetta... Hmmm. He also brought me drinks, let me try on numerous bags, and showed me several new wallets. I've got a Bday and an ani coming up so I'm def gonna drop some hints!!!

This is pretty interesting. I'm curious... do you use the washing machine because you need to clean the interior of the bag?

I can't wait to see pictures, can anyone here recommend a good leather conditioner, my mom stopped using her speedy because she said the leather is drying out, today is her birthday and dad took her on a vacation. I would love to TLC it back up for her as her present! ( i just graduated college, IM BROKE AS A JOKE). i'll take any suggestions and please include instructions the last thing i want to do is ruin the speedy she has. It was her 21 birthday present!

It might sound funny but I use leather lube... I clean the purse with clorox wipes (bleach free) then when it's dry I carefully apply leather lube to all vachetta... It works wonders!!!

One cool thing I forgot to mention is today at LV they replaced the chain on my cles for free!!! Also the SA, security, and I shared a laugh because two women came in with HIDEOUS fakes!!! The SA was like "what huge cajones she has" LOL!!!

I'm glad it turned out so well! Did the vachetta have stains or darker areas before? Did washing even out the vachetta? I have a vintage speedy that has some darker areas and I'm curious if washing it would even it out!
