Oh I am so happy for you OP!!! Definitely keep us updated if PayPal goes after your scamming buyer.

I know the battle may be over, but I'd still love to know if your buyer ever lands herself in the deep crap hole in which she belongs!

CONGRATS!!!

I've been reading this thread all night and finally read the SUPER HAPPY NEWS! YAY KRISTIE! I TRIED to closed my PP account and will never EVER deal with them again!
I will have to adjust some things but that is fine by me!
Funny that on PP site it says I can't close because I have an instant transfer pending? Really, I haven't used PP so this should be interesting!

WOW!!!
Just read this thread for the first time - the first post made me feel SICK to my stomach!
And then after a few pages in I jumped to the end and soooooo glad you have your money back and I hope paypal go after that buyer for the $$$
It still doesn't seem fair that they have ended up with the item for free!!!
Keep us posted, will be watching with interest
CONGRATS on the first win!!!

Kristie.. this question just popped in my head. How was Chase able to get involved, if you initiated the funds to be put back into your PP account so that it would show a $0 balance. Wouldn't PP had to have deducted the amount from your checking account via ACH directly for a dispute to be opened? (It's been years since i've worked at Chase/ WAMU so I'm a little rusty in the dispute process :p.. I hope my question made sense ;))

Kristie, big congratulation to you, also a big hooray to Chase!

Oogie raised the question above was also my question. Kristie, could you let us know?

Wow, this is a hopeful turn of events! Although it's still currently someone other then PP doing the right thing.

I got an online survey in the mail from PP, asking for more info about why I closed my account. Interestingly, some of the reasons they had listed in their "check all that apply" menu for what they did wrong were: didn't show enough empathy for my problem; didn't help me recoup financial loss; I disagree with PP policies. It's clear that they know all the reasons why people might be leaving them now.

I've been following this thread from the beginning but haven't posted. All the recent stories of scammers have been really depressing but it looks like this will work out in Kirstie's favour, which is great.
Paypal really needs to look at it's procedures and until they start going after scammers and stop making it so easy to defraud sellers then they deserve to be down $11k. Well done to Chase for their customer service & protection.

My battle may not be over yet but at least it is looking optimistic!

I cannot thank you all enough for rallying around me in this time of major crisis. My bank also said that Paypal will need to pursue the BUYER if they want their money back because Chase is not going to give it up easily, LOL........Karma is a real BIT$#!

*HUGE HUGS* to every one of you!!
:hbeat::smooch::hugs::winkiss::flowers:

This is the best outcome possible - making a bigger corporation go after PayPal instead of you. Awesome!
