This is sickening! If this were in the US I would fly to their home and speak to them personally and take them to court. And if possible sue Paypal as well. This is horrible!!

This really makes me hate Paypal. They have absolute control over your money!

I'm so sorry this happened to you- we live our lives trying to be good people and then someone comes along that just gets away with being completely evil. Don't worry- karma is a *****.

oh god. i think i know how you feel! i got scammed $2000 but luckily i got the bag back, plus a $300 kindly fee from ebay since i threatened to sue them. i'm not afraid to get mean!

No, I do not have Amex unfortunately..........I wonder how it works with M/C or Visa???

I think once the bag leaves your hands though to sell to someone else, that all changes........At that point, PAYPAL is the executor and your CC no longer has any responsibility KWIM?

Pretty sure this is the Black Amex she is talking about which is cardholdership by invite only. Generally you have to spend 250K a year for four years running to get that. Platinum is quite a bit less and I think anybody can apply. However, they do have a cap and I believe it's well under the 11k. I don't think M/C or Visa has any of that type of coverage. Agree that once you sent it off, it was gone!

Just to be a thorn in PP's side, MY bank just did a chargeback against PP for the amount out of my account.

I doubt it will work since in the PP contract it states they get to have access to the account and debit funds.

BUT you never know........till you try.........

Chase (my bank) already debited my bank account BACK the $11K. Clearly I am not touching it until the case with my bank is CLOSED.

My bank said it only take 5-7 business days for them to close the dispute since it is a direct bank/ACH debit. Can you imagine if the 5-7 days goes by and it gets closed??? OMG, the STRESS that would be gone!!!!

Wanna play PP? Let's rock and roll.

:woohoo:Great news! Chase is awesome. If anyone can successfully go against PayPal, it's definitely Chase!

Brilliant idea OP! I am sure it feels good to fight back- Good Luck! If I am understanding correctly, maybe it was a good thing you brought your negative PP balance back up with your bank account (Chase)... if not a chargeback through your bank would not have been possible, right?

Regarding the chargeback with your bank, I would have never thought of that. You did say that you were the one to transfer funds back to Paypal, so I am wondering if this could be used against you? I don't think Paypal can go into your accout and take the funds, but if you transferred it yourself, I hope it doesn't work against you. Would be a great victory for sellers everywhere if this does work! I am sure these banks are fed up with all the Paypal horror stories. Good luck, hope it works!

I think OP said her Paypal balance was negative, not her bank account.

damierlover - yes, I think it's referred to as the black card but amex calls it the centurion card. I don't know if the insurance cap vary by accounts; as for mine, it's not capped at 11K. The terms of coverage may also vary per account. My experience dealing with insurance policies is that the verbiage is quite vague in many instances; it wouldn't hurt to look into all avenues to recover the loss. OP, good luck.
