I think those thicker flatter straps will sell well! I've seen them get a lot of comments on social media from potential customers about concerns over the straps, although I don't think I've heard anyone who owns it complain about them. But hopefully the changes help them expand, and they look great!!

And that is the exact one I ordered, yea!!!! In fact, I sent an email to VH this morning asking when i can expect the bag. I told her to hurry because I am so excited. I had the original shopper, but it was too big. This one has everything that I like in a bag...perfect size, open top with a magnet, great shoulder straps, perfect number of internal pockets for my things, no fuss, no worry material, extremely lightweight, ethically sourced. This just may be my dream bag.

I got an email from VH yesterday. I inquired if they were going to make the medium cage crossbody in red. I have loved that bag since it came out in the small size, but I needed something bigger. She said they had plans for more red bags "during the Holidays" and they would keep the crossbody in mind. So this is a maybe???
I am still awaiting my medium shopper which I know is going to be perfect. Anticipation is fun, but I am such an impatient person, lol

So to anyone with bags having a magnet - is it strong? That is a disappointment in some bags Ive bought, the snap is so weak it constantly pops open even if the bag is not overstuffed.

I just received the Von Holzhausen new medium sized shopper. My first impressions are good.
The color is different from what I pictured. It is one of those colors that is hard to describe - oat? tan with hint of yellow? tan with a hint of green? It changes, but it is a nice color. It is extremely lightweight like all VH bags. The size is perfect. The magnet closure is STRONG! which is a good thing. I like the way the straps are attached inside the bag. It is different and edgy. It has a tiny bit of chemical smell, that I expect to be gone shortly. It is not an unpleasant smell at all.

The wide strap is great and can be worn on the shoulder or pulled out and worn crossbody. The original VH bags with the tiny round straps were not heavy enough to be uncomfortable, but the wide strap is so much nicer.

The inside is great with the zip pocket and the two slip pockets. With an open tote I have no need for an outside pocket. The phone fits fine in one of the slip pockets and is easily accessible. I would say VH has a winner here. I love my leather bags, but there is always a spot for a great looking bag that is eco-friendly, chic and no maintenance at all. This is going to be one of my favorite every day bags.

I got the large shopper in navy/black and I love it! And that magnet is so strong that things in my bag get stuck to it before I close it if they have any magnetized metal in them! There is something about the straps of the smaller Shopper that I don't like, IDK why, just personal preference. I like the handles on the big one. One more thought, worth the paper it is written on, VH touts that their vegan material and process is better than the others who need to use petrochemicals in making fake leather. I have not yet seen a complete explanation of why and how this is possible. But, being the bag Wh*r* that I am, I bought them anyway..

So glad you like your VH bag. I am a big supporter and I have wondered the same thing. I did not mind the thin strap on the big shopper that I had before I gave it to my DD. The bag is so light it does not bother you at all to carry it. I have to agree the esthetics of the thin strap are better, but I do prefer the thicker one. AT least we have a choice. Welcome to VH world.
