The leather is so pretty..
I think some of the differences between the Hermès-specified Russian leather and the ones Baker tannery supplies to other houses are the depth and uniformity of the graining, and maybe the color saturation. Here's my notebook from Tanner Bates which looks a bit paler and flatter compared to Volynka.

I can't wait to get my hands on a real Volynka piece to have a feel of the hand, and also compare the differences in scent.

You know, I could have sworn it was a normal 35 or 31. I have considered the Travel Bolide before and if I bought one it’d be the Chimère, plus if the Volynka we saw was larger DH would have bought it. He didn’t see it as a guy bag. I remember considering it as a normal, not travel, bag. Hope that makes sense!The travel size?

I'm strong and don't mind heavy bags but
Overall I don’t mind the travel Bolide weight (like the Shark or Chimère) but in Volynka it would be way heavy. The bag we were offered wasn’t noticeably heavy…again, I really think it was a standard Bolide and pretty sure it was a 35/37/whatever they call it now

Pricey indeed. HAC 40 in Volynka back in 2019 is 13k eur. With two price increases it shouldn't be around 33k eur like that oneAnother HAC 40 in Volynka on Vestiaire Collective....rather priceybut gorgeous!
Texted the SM who offered it and he said as far as he remembers, it was a Bolide 35. This was some while ago, too. H mysteries never cease. (He also told me I'd be very unlikely to ever see another one lol.) Could just be our faulty memories. DH has expressed an interest in considering Volynka for his next Horizon project. As our CdC and Horizon SAs are both currently on summer leave, we will get in touch when they return to FSH. I am very excited as DH generally only mentions things when he is committed and once they get his brief, he is an ideal Horizon client.
