I have suspicions my City may be tabac but because it was very distressed when I bought it I am not confident enough to post. A few years ago there was a post on this. I will look for it today, while you are waiting for others. IMO BT has more of an orangey quality to it.

Both colors change with wear and age. Here's an early 1990s Chrystie in British Tan and a 1980s NYC Shoulder Purse in Tabac. The difference really shows on the inside suede.

Actually it's funny you should ask about dry edges. I'm working on this Tabac Collegiate ("before" picture attached) and it has very dry edges. I'm on about my 4th coat of Leather CPR and it's still soaking it up like crazy. I don't have Leather Therapy. I'm counting on CPR and Blackrock to do the trick. Maybe one of the expert rehabbers with more experience will chime in.

Hey tabac is always going to be a topic of conversation! I only found your post because I did a search of catbird9's posts and it was linked. I know I had questions about tabac early on and she always responded with photos. I found the more recent posts first and stopped at that.

The best way to find out if something is tabac is to get a spectator bag and compare it to the trim since we know the trim was tabac. The bags I've had with tabac trim usually had quite a bit of wear so I'm sure the color was different from the original.

Here is a picture of my 3 bt bags posing with my tabac city (seller had identified the colour). The basic bag and the small sidepack have patina but the Watson seemed practically unused when I got it. Hope this is useful!

Thank you..yes I do believe my Stewardess is tabac. Its got a more yellow look than red.
