I have your Gracies bigger sister. Her long strap was missing as well. I love your replacement for her.View attachment 4413517View attachment 4413518 I.m sorry she is sidewise, but I love her color and have never seen another one like her.

Is this the 4417? Love the color!

Beautiful color!

I don't have a Biltmore but I have the larger Copley bag in "butter".

Here's a pic of tiny Gracie next to my big Copley.

These bags always make me think of Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn!

Yes! I found her on Etsy a few years ago. I really only collect the larger Madison bags. I think they are perfection. Most of the Coach are too small.

It's a Biltmore! I love it! I have it in red. (Of course!) [emoji16]

Is it the bright red of your Carlyle?

There's a Beechnut Biltmore on Etsy for $83 but it is missing the shoulder strap.

A small gift for my little Gracie!

The beechnut Gracie was the first of my vintage "Made in Italy" caviar leather Madison Coach bags. She is tiny and impractical but I love her dearly. I found her at the Salvation Army Store for only $2.00 and she was an easy rehab. Her style number is 4413 and she was released in 1994 for $242.

I always felt bad that I was unable to replace her missing long leather strap with a genuine Gracie strap, but I am happy with the MFF gold "curb link chain strap" that I bought on the Coach Factory Online Sale.

Recently I earned $3 in eBay Bucks and I was looking for opportunities to use it on an inexpensive item when I came across a small, flannel "Coach Madison Collection" dustbag for $10 shipped. It is the same kind of dustbag that originally came with the Italian Madison bags.

So I figured "Why not give Gracie a treat?" and I ordered it for her! She is once again encased in the proper storage bag and looking like the perfect little lady that she has always been.

So far I have invested a total of $24 in my Gracie rehab ($2 for the bag, $15 for the gold chain strap, and $7 for the dustbag) and it amazes that the actual purse was the cheapest item on the list!

Here is my sweet Gracie in her new dustbag!

Just lovely and such a deal! Makes it even more sweet! I keep wanting to try one of these styles but most are pricey online. Now that current Coach seems to be fading in nice leathers, I am going to focus more on vintage/older styles. Nothing beats the older Coach bags!

My Costa Rican traveller aka Court bag, arrived! It's in great condition but needed some Leather CPR. This is after two coats and she definitely needs more. I didn't dunk, but I may end up after all. Haven't done anything to the hardware yet either. View attachment 4412548
If only the bag could talk and tell you where it had been sitting and or sight seeing!

Little story. I had a moment tonight, where I felt like I needed to purge my bags, because a few months ago my husband got into a bad accident and bills are coming in. I put some up, then had a "what the hell are you doing" moment and took them down. That's my story, the end. lol.

Same here, he totaled his car and I have been on severely sick for the last few weeks. It’s been a crazy time. Best wishes my friend [emoji847]
Even though I like my bags a lot, they’re just stuff at the end of the day, so hey, if you need some $$, why not.
Hugs for you both!

Thanks so much Lake Effect! I really appreciate it [emoji847]

I just wanted to add that my hubby, it’s back to his old self and doing well. So all is good now and right with the world [emoji16]

So what's in everyone's wish list? What vintage coach bag are you looking for?
I've been considering a handbag in a really soft leather! I have my Copley, which is beautiful, but I'd love a handbag made of that delicious vintage leather maybe in a fun color like purple or green. I have my dinky shopper already though, so I'm not too pressed. Coach just made so many beautiful crossbody bags, but I'm more of a hand-carry girl myself so it's hard to pick!

Oh the soft satchel would've been great in purple or even green!

They have gotten pricey online, but occasionally you get lucky. I got this poorly listed Forest Green Drake Briefbag 4420 (with dustbag) on ebay not long ago for only $66! It's missing the hangtag and has a few flaws but mostly it's in good shape!

Hi all! I recently got the book "Bonnie Cashin: Chic is Where You Find It" and thought folks might enjoy these pix from her collab with Coach in the 1960s. The Coach years make up a relatively small part of the book, but I recommend it as her fashion career as a whole is very interesting!
