Um yeah. Most of my friends aren't into purses. I can't do purse talk with them. One even said I've never met anyone so into purses. [emoji16][emoji38]
Lots of people don't understand my obsession. My friends especially, they usually say "gee that's an expensive hobby". Or " for f sake how many bags do you have. :blah:

That made me LOL, ty! Much to my surprise, my niece really embraced vintage Coach. She was buying contemporary Coach at consignment, resale, thrift shops. Saw the trend for vintage and got on board. One sister and a girlfriend completely support this, as they have been gifted bags lol. My mom and other sisters completely understand I am indulging myself in the bags I could not afford earlier in my life. They get I like the classic styles and quality leather. I have people telling me I should sell refurbed bags, thinking there is huge profit. I’m not getting that vibe from what I read in the Forum. With a handful of exceptions, I don’t have particularly popular styles IMO. I wouldn’t mind selling my bags to get at least what I bought them for.

I hate that, it can be so subjective. Some hobbies are far and away more expensive than rehabbing and collecting handbags! For example, a friend of mine will sometimes comment about my handbags, meanwhile her husband is an avid gun collector and belongs to a range. Oh, but that's such an inexpensive hobby! :whut::no:

Have you guys ever seen a Precreed skinny tote with no bottom piping? I just bought one and I didn't notice it when ordering. I just noticed it now and wondering if this was made this way or if the bottom was replaced? None of my other skinny totes have this kind of bottom but they aren't Precreed either. Yes. A lot of earlier bags didn't have piping.

I have another Sheridan Collection question! From what I am seeing, the leather is stiffer than the glove tanned vintage bags, correct? I found one I am really interested in, but it looks like it was not stored stuffed, so I am afraid it will be hard to reshape. Is that typically an issue, or is it more pliable/softer than it seems? TIA!
Sheridans are not as stiff and structured as Madison. I don't think it will that difficult to reshape. I'd probably stuff it and hang it in a steamy bathroom.

Thanks for the reply on this. It was between that Court that I added in the authenticate thread and a Sheridan, but the Sheridan speaks to me more. I was concerned it was a stiffer leather, sort of like the old D&B all weather leathers, and wouldn't shape. I was contemplating even dunking it after seeing Katev's success with that.....

I got the Sheridan Monticello authenticated, so I purchased that one! That's my vintage black bag. I've been wanting a black top handle and was initially looking at Court bags, but they are much more common than the Sheridans. The one I got was a black on black, and it literally stopped me in my scrolling tracks when I was browsing vintage bags. I am hoping it is true love when I see it in person and fix her up a bit!

Yay! Please share after you get. I was thinking about a crossbody from either the Sheridan or Dakota line. From the Sheridan, it looks like the Monticello 4226 and the Glenwood 4225 are probably the largest size (at least from what I could tell). I also like the Dakota Lariat bag 4206 and the Ranger bag 4201, but I couldn't find the dimensions. Here was an old post on it: https://forum.purseblog.com/threads...-questions-here.355205/page-462#post-25324166 Of course, a satchel would probably be the largest in both lines but those seem really rare (at least from my month daily search). And I am slightly worried because I've read in multiple older posts that the Dakota line maybe seem more fragile/less durable than the Sheridan. I also think I like the solid and two-tone options.

Here are the catalog descriptions on the Lariat 4206 and the Ranger 4201:

I saw your post in the AT thread and really loved the way that style looks in black too--so striking!

I'm alone in this hobby too! I've never admitted to my family how many bags I have....or the price I paid for some of them. My excuse is that I make my own money, pay my own bills, so I will buy what I want. Yes I will.
