Costa Rican and Italian bags are just as nice as those made in the US. IMO, the best leathers are from the 90s and early 2000s. That might be partly because bags from the 80s have aged and the leather has lost some suppleness. The bag I'm currently carrying is from 1990-91 and the leather is wonderful. Some of the best leather I've ever felt were on a 2001 Legacy drawstring made in the US, and a 2002 Costa Rican stewardess.
So thanks to all of you that chimed in on the leather/origin, Costa Rica was on my radar. You enablers! I wanted one more vintage bag, and was trying to decide which one. After mulling it over, I have decided on and purchased a gray court bag made in Costa Rica. Gray isn't a color that is really easy to find, and I love gray as a neutral. The bag is in really good condition (or should be when it comes!), and I got a decent price on it.

I sure hope so! I found this one already on my watchlist last night (I think I saved it thinking it was a Manor) and got so excited that I made an offer. She sent me a pic of the creed this morning along with measurements that all seem to check out so I went ahead and pulled the trigger.
I thought it was a Manor too but the spring lock hardware made me question the authenticity. I didn't know what I was looking at! You bought it??

I was just wondering if you saw a vintage bag high on your wishlist, would it bother you if it had a markings (such as ES, FS, outlet stamp, etc) on the creed?. I think irregular would slightly concern me if I wasn't sure of the damage. Not sure if the other markings indicate an error or inferior product or if it really is just to track where an item was sold.

If it doesn't work for you I call dibs, lol
Noted lol!

I originally thought the same thing--that it was a "weird" Manor--and saved it out of curiosity. Then late last night I was scrolling down my watchlist and went "ooohhhh". I woke up at 5:30 this morning to see if the seller had answered my request for a pic of the creed because I guess I'm that obsessed now lol. I know that buying before having it authenticated is a big risk, but FOMO got the best of me, and she accepted the offer I made immediately so I went for it. I was so afraid that if fell back asleep without getting it, that it would be gone when I woke up!

Absolutely not! It wouldn't bother me at all.

I recently bought a brown Court bag that was made in Costa Rica in 2000 and the leather is really lovely. I think gray is a great neutral too and I hope you post pics when it arrives!

It wouldn't bother me. I've had several of them that were stamped Irregular, or with an X or bullseye. Sometimes I found what I thought might have been a minor defect, sometimes I couldn't find anything wrong with it. You can ask the seller, but unless they are very familiar with vintage Coach, they wouldn't necessarily know what to look for.

I have also had bags with no such markings, that had crooked stitching, or tiny imperfections in the leather or workmanship, but that somehow passed QC inspection.

Thank you! Also I really appreciate the authentication - I went ahead and bought it!

Thank you! I'll keep my fingers crossed that any imperfections are really minor. I have been actively looking since the beginning of March. I'm pretty happy and have since bought a large Gramercy wallet, a short Bridle wallet, a Gramercy n/s satchel (will def need rehab), and now a Sonoma satchel!! I'm so excited & will probably get some things at the end of this week or sometime next week. My future wishlist will still be looking for maybe some cosmetic cases/slg for inside of my purse, something from the Madison Italy line (Sutton, Copley, etc), something from the Sheridan line (thinking a crossbody), something from Costa Rica (Court or some tote/satchel, etc). Though I'm still stuck on details like what color, size, style, etc....and I probably should wait a month or so to buy. I also might look into best sites for auctioning things I have but won't use (eg. ebay, Mercari, etc). I sincerely appreciate all of the suggestions & help I have got from here!

Hi all! I'm thinking about getting a Coach 9974 Multi Zip but have some concerns. Wondering if any of you have thoughts!

I'm worried about the center divider and gusset and whether the bag is extra heavy or if you're not able to fit much in the bag because of it. I'm also wondering how functional the all-the-way-around zipper is. I do like easy access to my items (I'm a fan of a quick top zip or a magnetic or turnlock flap) so wondering if it will be annoying at all to have to unzip the bag all the way around every time.

I've been on the hunt for a structured rectangular camera bag for some time. I didn't really like the Swagger or Sutton (and a few others whose names I've forgotten) and the shape of the Multi Zip really appeals to me. But I don't want to buy something if it isn't functional for my needs.

IMG_6264.JPG Over the past year I too have been collecting top zip bags (with outside pocket/s) for quick access. I travel and have found the square bags pictured above to be my go to options because they have good depth which easily accommodates the usual items I carry with me. Each easily fit into my Musette or Carrier along with other stuff when I need a larger briefcase or carryon too. I have found center dividers don't fit everything for me and are heavier. I do have one Sonoma Sheridan Mayfield divided bag I use for running errands daily that I love but don't carry much in it.

My ziptop bags above showing size variation....I don't find any of them heavy when empty.
#9706 Skinny Flight Bag 12.5x9x3 - I love this bag (I also have nonstrap black version).
#9855 Classic Hobo 13x10x4.5 - Widest, fits lots but does it say 'old lady' bag? Carries 11x8.5 files though!
#9939 Carson Zip 11x6.75x3.5 - A bit smaller, has two outside pockets and still holds everything. My go to BT bag.
#9399 Companion Bag 11x7x3 - Smallest and lightest, and still works for me.

Smalls shown that I always carry and all fit into the top three bags above!
#4514 Organizer Catty - I actually have two, brown and black! Carries my mini ipad, notepad, business cards and pens. And slips into my bags when I don't need my larger ipad.
#7165 Chunky Case - keeps all my little stuff in one place.
#7170 Skinny Case - I just as my bills/coin purse
#7219 Multi-Function Wallet - Is my card case

The 'Dinky" size Basic Bag black ziptop at the left of the Skinny Flight Bag gets stuffed into all my bags to use as a quick grab and go when a big bag isn't needed or useful.

Hope this helps for some comparisons!
