Hey guys, will Coach do any repair on Bonnie Cashin bags? I bought a bag from eBay and the lining came apart from the zipper. Will they fix it?
I truly doubt it. A few years ago they changed their repair policy to bags made within one year. I don't think they have backed down from that. Before the new policy went into effect, when bags supposedly had a life time warranty, I sent in a NYC basic bag with a broken zipper, the zipper fabric had corroded; sounds pretty much like the same problem you have. They sent it back without repairing it.

I took it to the Coach store and they turned me away saying they won't fix it and I should take it to a leather smith.

Hi ladies. Recently bought this school bag on eBay but had to open a case since it was (sadly) dyed and not advertised as such. eBay is letting me return it, I just wanted to share it here in case the seller relists without updating the description. The bag was very obviously dyed - the leather did not feel good, smelled a little chemically, and there were dye stains on much of the hardware. Just a heads up should any of you see it listed again. https://www.ebay.com/itm/282347968945

I hope you put that in your Feedback, or that you will as soon as you get your refund! Something like "Undisclosed bad dye job & bad odor, stained hdware" or whatever it takes to fit in the allotted space.

And in cases like this, I'd suggest posting the seller's name in case the link stops working for some reason. Someone who knowingly sells a bag in that condition deserves to be outed, ESPECIALLY when the listing by " knesida " says "Very good condition(see pics) no spots rips odor". There are visible dye spots on the strap's D-ring attachments and the dye job especially in the last photo is REALLY blotchy.

I will be sure to leave appropriate feedback once I get my refund. And thanks for listing the seller, I should have done that. I sell vintage Coach on eBay too, and always make it a point to disclose all flaws and indicate if I've treated the bag with anything. Buyers really do appreciate the honesty! I've had some bags in rough shape that still sold with positive feedback received because I was upfront with the condition. I wish sellers like this would just be honest. Even if I don't want a dyed/altered bag, there's probably someone else out there that wouldn't mind!

A very good find indeed. I would have jumped at it. Hopefully it went to an appreciative collector who was hunting for that particular style and not some flipper whose only interest is in profiting from it. I suppose we'll find out shortly if it was the latter.
Bummer, I was counting on you being the one who scored! Sorry to hear it wasn't you either!

Unfortunately, the powers that be have not been smiling upon me when it comes to special BIN bargains. It has probably been more than a year since I've been fortunate enough to luck upon a real find in a timely fashion. Since then, I've had to pay market-price for my acquisitions. It's a bit disheartening each time I see another one sneak by. C'est la vie. My only hope is that those end up in appreciative and equally deserving hands.

Meant to ask - did you lose the BIN checkout race on this or just happen to see it before it was snatched up? If the former, my condolences [emoji846]
Thanks! I actually saw it out of the corner of my eye while looking at something else. It was down in the "People who viewed this item also viewed" listings. I was a little slow processing what I was seeing and by the time I got to it was gone.

I had just gotten a good deal on a BIN on a Broadway Satchel a few hours earlier, so I didn't feel too bad.
