My new babies! Good shape, just some dunking and conditioning, maybe a little edge touch up. Like butter already! Love the Patricia style - now I REALLY wish I'd gotten that green one!

I have it in my files as roll barrel, but I think those are keywords I put in so I could find it again. I don't know the official name. There were other bags called roll bags that looked less like a roll than this one! It's inspired by a Bonnie Cashin design.

That's really unique. I hope someone here gets it and posts "after" pics.

The first one is probably called a Glazed Roll Satchel or Tote. I read long ago that only 100 were made, which seems hard to believe since I've seen 7 or 8 just on Ebay and I own 2 of them. The style number is in the same sequence as the Penelope bags from 2001 but I'm not sure if it was considered part of that line since I've never found it in a catalog.

The leather won't handle any kind of re-dyeing or painting very well since it has a bit of irridescence, the color changes a bit depending on the light. It's more obvious with the dark spruce color but the wine shade has a bit of color change too. The leather is glazed water buffalo.

Here's a close pic of the original color, although in most light it has just a tiny bit more brown in it:

That is a really lovely bag. Very unique. Love the colour and shape and it's even a good size too.

Yes, it's surprisingly roomy inside even though it's only about 6 inches high. Best of all, the extra strap is long enough for anyone to wear crossbody comfortably, even me. :smile1:

Neither of mine needed dunking so I can't say how that leather will respond to it, mine just needed a light conditioning with Apple Leather Care. Water Buffalo leather seems to be pretty durable.
