I don't think I want one as much as I used to.
Do you have an opinion on the color of these 2 ponies? The first one has a ton of patina, British tan?
But then what is the second one who is definitely more yellow - also British tan?
I don't own these by the way, these photos come from online - but after I bid on that rough shape pony last week I realized I can't identify colors on these.

Colors varied depending on when they were made. They could all be BT as BT over the years varied. Photographs vary due to lighting and cameras so you don't really know how these bags would compare if placed next to each other. Aging also impacts the color. The more a bag needs moisturizer, the more washed out the color will look. There is a slight chance the redder one could be rust.

thanks. Yeah regarding rust.
I'm pretty sure I have a 1970s classic pouch 9170 in Rust. For the longest time I couldn't figure out what the color was. It looks similar to this pic (pulled from google - not mine). Not a traditional rust - almost "pinky".
If I pull it out during my cleanup in the next 2 weeks I'll take a picture and ask you.
If it is rust, definitely not the same rust I am used to. But what else can it be.

I had a precreed bag in my possession that looked just like that. Rust was used at least 1970-1977. Bonnie Cashin used pinks and oranges earlier.

Once I bought a slim satchel that was the prettiest orange, but once I dunked and conditioned it, it turned red.

Hi!

Does anyone have an idea of what color this vintage Coach Court bag is?

I thought it was a faded or dirty British Tan, but seems not orange-y or bright enough to be British Tan. View attachment 6072058

TIA :-)
It's hard to tell when they haven't been rehabbed. I imagine it would end up a lot darker once it was rehabbed. Some colors were only available in certain years so the year of production helps. I think it could be mahogany or taupe.

I cleaned it up a bit and conditioned it and it's a lot brighter now, granted the lighting wasn't exactly the same as the before photo! I still don't really know what color it is.

The serial number is 0857-904, so I think it was made in the 1980s.

Maybe tabac?

Probably early 1990s based on the number format, assuming it is authentic.

It could be tabac. It's hard to tell. If it was dunked, it might come out darker, could be mahogany.
